What is Facebook?

Facebook is one of the most analyzed platforms in contemporary technology studies, appearing across courses in communication, business, information systems, psychology, and media studies. Its scale, business model, and cultural influence make it a rich subject for academic inquiry. Students examine it not simply as a website but as a company shaping how users interact, share information, and conduct business. The platform raises pressing questions about privacy, identity, corporate power, and the social consequences of networked communication, giving instructors across multiple disciplines a compelling and relevant case study to assign.

Papers on this topic take a wide range of approaches. Some focus on social networking broadly, weighing the pros and cons of platforms like Facebook for individuals and communities. Others narrow to specific issues such as cyberbullying, the impact on adult relationships, or how sentiment and information spread through social media. Business-oriented essays examine Facebook's competitive position against rival platforms and its influence on human resource practices. Additional angles include policy and privacy concerns around user data access, as well as forward-looking arguments about where the company is headed.

A strong essay on Facebook needs a focused, arguable thesis rather than a general survey of the platform's features. Evidence carries most weight when it connects concrete user behaviors or company decisions to a clearly defined consequence—social, economic, or ethical. Effective papers rely on specific examples rather than broad generalizations about "social media." The most common pitfall is treating Facebook as a static object; stronger essays account for how the platform and its role for users and businesses continue to evolve.

Film criticism of "Egalite for All": portrayal of Toussaint Louverture
It does deal with the stated period and the history of the times--1780's. But the director has taken the viewer for granted in many issues. For example the slave system of Haiti is simply stated as ‘black slaves and white owners. Secondly the film has downplayed the efforts of the blacks as they were then called, in the revolution. It appears to be made that the city got independence more by chance rather than by their struggle. The history and the settings have not been made clear. Opinions of the commentators are too garishly underlined more than the necessary facts. The viewer would never know if the slaves were brought to the island from Africa, or where they natives who were enslaved? If they were brought from Arica, at a time when the US was promoting slavery and Napoleon was supposed to promote liberty, equality and fraternity that were the slave system like? What role did the constitution that was made by Toussaint play in the later day declaration of independence? What is the position now? Whose interests were and are being protected?

Employee privacy invasion in the modern workplace
This dissertation is about employee privacy torts. The age of technology has brought various social dilemmas to the forefront and invasion of privacy of employees at workplace is a significant one to mention. Gaining access to private and sensitive information of an individual by the employer is typically referred to the invasion of privacy. However, rules, acts and guidelines have been developed by the legislation of the United States to protect the privacy rights of the employees, but this aspect has not been widely expressed. Employee privacy in the workplace has been observed as relatively new emerging areas of concern in the modern world that has been highlighted from various historical events and occurrences. The advocates unequivocally declare that they should be leveraged with the privacy rights in order to be protective and competent. However, potential conflicts have occurred with respect to the privacy, as the employers have initiated to monitor the activities of the employees. The innovative technology, the rapidly increasing use of social media and the changing trends of the society are the leading components that have augmented the issue to paramount heights. In response to alleviate the intensity of the issue, legislative bodies have developed various laws to protect the invasion of employee privacy that include Electronic Communication Privacy Act. Moreover, various Supreme Court decisions in favor to the privacy rights conclude that this grave concern has been recognized as fundamental to the current society, even though the legislations do not explicitly assure the right to employee privacy at workplace. Few recommendations are provided for the employers that would facilitate them in developing policies considering the employee privacy with gravity in order to ensure that they do not run afoul of the law. Future implications of employee privacy have also been precisely discussed.

The Shannon and Weaver model applied to college communication challenges
The essay is about the Shannon-Weaver model of communication.. "I love this model. It helps me better grasp so many facets of communication and I find it helpful when communicating with others. Firstly, I find that it helps my listening. Active listening is essential in fully grasping the import of the other's words. I intend to see that my "ball" has been received and I can do so in at least two ways. One way is by actively watching the other and observing from his or her facial expression whether he has understood me. Another way is by asking him for feedback or questioning whether he has received the "ball". The model also helps me enhance communication in a situation where the recipient is of a different gender, age, background, or social position than mine.
