Disassociation and personality disorders in Fight Club and Abre Los Ojos
The exhibit of my choice for the research essay is the film Fight Club. It is a screen adaptation of a novel of the same title; therefore, the novel will be referenced as well. While the focus of the paper will be upon Fight Club, in an effort to expand the context of the ideas to be discussed, the essay will also include analysis of a related Spanish film, Abre Los Ojos (Open Your Eyes). This film preceded the release of Fight Club by two years and went on to later be adapted for an American audience under the title, Vanilla Sky, starring Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, and Penelope Cruz, who is cast as the same character, Sofia, in both versions of the film. The paper will discuss these films, questions they raise, and ideas they execute in relation to Doniger's piece, "Many Masks, Many Selves."
Lesson plan for teaching fifth-grade parts of speech
This paper provides two lesson plans for 5th grade instruction. The first is a general lesson plan to reinforce concepts of English grammar. The second is a differentiated lesson plan, which conveys the same information, but includes elements to improve retention for students with learning challenges, ESL students, and students with different intelligences, like visual learners.
Nursing roles and responsibilities in elderly patient care
Nursing professionals play a number of valuable and important roles for members of society. They act as reliable sources of information regarding health issues. They also act as educators and counselors to help patients adjust to changes in their health, treatment and lifestyle. Most importantly, nurses act as caregivers who look after the physical, psychological as well as emotional well-being of their patients. Some of these roles become more essential and pronounced for elderly patients because of their distinct needs as opposed to those experienced by other patient groups.
