The paper contains two parts; the first part defines various terms such as mobilizing shame, oppositional gaze, Punctum, catastrophe and spectacle in the context of visual culture. The second part is a photo essay in which words as well as images reflect on each other. Both parts explain the relevance of the terms/ images to the readings provided.

While building a comprehensive theory, or a comprehensive approach to counseling, it is important that we answer the question: What is the definition of illness? What are the elements in a comprehensive definition of “cure”? What needs to be cured? What is it that’s going on in illness that needs to be addressed, that needs to be cured? What needs to happen for a sick person to be declared well? We need to talk about the development of the techniques that would govern or guide a therapeutic process that would bring people to a point of healthfulness.

William Dalrymple has often written about other cultures and spiritual experiences as he travels the globe extensively. This paper focuses on his book on sacred religious rituals in India. There are some smaller religions and sects where people undertake and address extreme actions. Two of those - a nun and a monk - are discussed here, and they are then compared to one another in different ways.

Egypt has always remained one of the most intriguing areas on the planet, with historians, archaeologists and laymen alike flocking to the country on a steady basis throughout the last two centuries to indulge their curiosity and explore the heart of human civilization. The home of iconic monuments built by the world’s first civilizations – including the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and a wide assortment of temples and ruins – Egypt has come to represent the age of humanity’s emergence for modern society. The age old cities of Cairo, Alexandria and Luxor have become modernized during the last century, but visitors and residents to Egypt have come to recognize the nation’s seemingly natural blend of antiquity and progress . From the ubiquitous images of mummies being exhumed from the underground tombs, to the tumultuous reign of Cleopatra during the Roman era, Egypt boasts one of the longest continuous histories in the entire world. In this paper, I shall explore the history of ancient Egyptian civilization, along with the impact of colonialism on Egypt’s development into a modern nation. Related issues to be discussed include the ancient civilizations ruled by the Pharaohs, the role of the Nile River and its valley in shaping Egyptian history, and the construction of the Suez Canal.

For this project, one of the case studies provided, and, using the ABC Model of Crisis Intervention, a six-page paper is written on how a crisis-intervention worker will help the person who comes into the office with a crisis. A specific text is used as a guide. the case study is about elder abuse, and the ABC model is applied using specific questions and interventions based on the textbook example.

In this paper, we are going to be looking at the cultural blending that occurred in India. This is occurring through examining cultural blending, how it shaped their identity, if it was permanent, what caused it to change and if it was beneficial. These different areas will offer specific insights which will show how this is influencing stakeholders.
