Back in the day, when babies were born in homes they were kept close to the mother following birth. As society evolved and the deliveries started occurring in nursing homes or hospitals, the skin to skin contact (SSC) norm began fading away. Some introduction should be given about what SSC really is. SSC is basically when the naked new born baby is placed on the mother's bare chest subsequent to the birth. (Moore, Anderson, Bergman & Dowswell, 2012) Interventions were done on mammals to reveal how separation of the baby and mother went on to affect the baby.

An analysis of interpersonal communication in John Singleton's Boyz in the Hood. Issues analyzed include language, how self is depicted and how individuals define their identities, how relationships are formed and dissolved through engagement and disengagement strategies, and how friendships are developed. Also explored, are the tensions that arise in the development of these friendships.

This paper focuses on a six day assignment in which the author was challenged to commit random acts of kindness. The first three days were dedicated to random acts of kindness for strangers, while the last three were dedicated to random acts of kindness for friends and family. The author reflects on how those actions made the author feel, but suggests that the constraints of the paper left the author feeling as if any resultant emotions were suspect.

This paper compares Dante's Divine Comedy with Homer's The Odyssey. Dante's struggle is fundamentally an interior, poetic quest for spiritual salvation and Christian understanding. Homer's Odysseus is on a quest to find his home. Odysseus does not embody Christian ideals, but is a clever, heroic figure of the kind admired by the ancient Greeks. Dante the character functions as an everyman.

With the introduction of machines and new technology in our lives we as Americans, have become very lazy and heavily dependent on the software driven machines which in turn has reduced the total amount of physical activity undertaken throughout the day. The concept of earning more and more money while we totally avoid giving time to ourselves through exercises, gyms, aerobics and yoga has in turn, made us into the fattest nation of the world. And due to obesity and tension our pancreases stop working and condition arises that is known as diabetes. Obesity can create many problems on an individual level and on a community level. Obesity hinders the functional level of organism and can cause loss in terms of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) or GNP (Gross National Product).

Club Drugs & Ecstasy "Though some researchers have indicated club drug users are more likely to be poly-drug users, there remains little known about the prevalence and specific combinations of the substances they use…" (Grov, et al, 2009, p. 848). Introduction The use of club drugs in the United States has been a problem for healthcare agencies and law enforcement for many years. The focus of research on the use of club drugs (notably ecstasy) in most articles is on "rave" events, where loud music and drug use is typical. This paper reviews and critiques the literature related to the use and abuse of club drugs.

This paper analyzes Anoop Nayak's 2003 sociological study "Boyz to Men: masculinities, schooling and labour transitions in de- industrial times." Working class men in post-industrial England have a much higher unemployment rate than do women. Nayak theorized that the culture of masculinity created an environment which valorized increasingly scarce manual labor versus seeking higher education.

This paper examines Berlin, Germany and New York City, New York during the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century. Art that came out of the different cities showed the psychological and sociological differences of the cities. German artwork was more focused on the people while American art looked at the accomplishments of people in architecture and other forms.
