Abstract In the recent past, cloud computing has become a critical cost effective solution for entities seeking a model designed to enable them accomplish business objectives while at the same time easing their computing needs. Different countries have had different experiences with cloud computing. In that regard, there is a need to explore not only the challenges but also the benefits and the lessons learnt with regard to the application of cloud computing in different jurisdictions.

When an organization need to go through changes, that is a key time for strong leadership, because there are always those that resist changes. This paper suggests that transformational leadership is the best kind of leadership in terms of being able to overcome the resistance that will always be there. Also, the example of GE's CEO Jack Welch is presented as a classic example of transformational leadership.

The environment in which an institution operates also shapes the cultural values, goals, norms and institutional beliefs. Therefore, because of such a consistent decision seem to be institutionally correct even when they do not align with the broader ethical standards. This paper reviews several recent leadership theories and evaluates them according to their effectiveness and their ability to integrate a participatory framework into organizational studies. Leadership theories have switched from a focus primarily upon the nature of the leaders to the effects followers can have on leaders. It concludes with a discussion of the application of these theories to real life situations.

This study involves a real-world analysis of noise sources and levels on an intensive care unit (ICU). The environmental sources of noise were shown to include equipment monitors, pagers, beepers, mechanical ventilators and so forth, but other environmental factors such as ambient lighting, building design and pharmacological interventions all play a role in affecting sleep patterns on the ICU.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder is a progressive disease of the lungs with no known cure. Accordingly, an effective care plan focuses on eliminating environmental contaminants that can trigger exacerbations, patient education on bronchodilator use, exercise, rehabilitation, and treatment of comorbidities. Nurses given the task of creating a long-term care plan should engage the patient and their loved ones in a conversation about quality of life, values, and their wishes concerning life-sustaining treatment.
