One might reasonably ask -- just how comfortable and pleasant "should" incarceration be?

The article (and research) completely ignore the purpose of the study; while the authors admit the results support a two-component model of the effects of prison confinement, we are left with the issue: is this pure research or is there a reason for understanding that the process of confinement is discomfiting for many.
