Radio Broadcasting What Are the
PAGES 7 WORDS 2393

It needs to be about the requirements become a radio DJ and the problems associated with the field and can include how to become a radio dj. One of the requirements is to interview someone in the field and I was going to make up someone to interview, but I am just too busy and ran out of time. You don't have to do that if you don't want to, just try to get as much material in there as possible. I may still add an interview in it if I have time. Also if possible try not to site wikipedia because professors don't count it as a valid source. If you have to use it, just change it up and put it in your own words. Thanks.

Developing of a Company
PAGES 8 WORDS 2466

Choose a company that?s involved in any one of our chapters, from:
? Chapter 4 ? Radio/Broadcasting
? Chapter 5 ? Television/Cable
? Chapter 6 ? Movies
? Chapter 7 ? Newspapers
? Chapter 8 ? Magazines
? Chapter 9 ? Books
.
The company should be currently operating in a specific business corresponding to the chapters mentions above. Your job, in 6-8 double-spaced pages is to outline:
.
? The history of the company and how it aligns with the history of their chief technology (at what point in the tech?s history did the company form?)
? The structure of the company (how is it divided, who?s responsible for what?)
? The role of the company in shaping culture via it?s medium (i.e., how did Warner Brothers? films help to evolve the ?studio system? and what role did they play in making film a part of typical American experience?)
? How the company is responding to technological and social/cultural change (how is Cable TV Company X responding to audiences moving online?)
.
You shouldn?t have a problem reaching 8 pages with that set of tasks, but you might have a problem sticking to 8 pages. Don?t go over. This assignment is as much a practice in communicating efficiently (packing a lot of info into a tight form) as it is an exercise in comprehensiveness. Describe the company, its history, historical context, structure, socio-cultural role, and response to change.
.
All papers must be cleanly and clearly typed in Times New Roman 12-point font, double spaced, on standard sized paper. HANDWRITTEN PAPERS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. You are responsible for the proper presentation of your paper. ALWAYS PROOFREAD it before you hand it in. A number of small mistakes in grammar, syntax, spelling, or formatting could significantly lower your grade, even if your work is brilliantly argued. See the Writing Center if you know this is a weak point for you, or if you have little experience with university-level writing.
My book is media & culture 8th. and written by Richard Campbell, Christopher R. Martin, Bettina Fabos.

Lost City Radio the Debut
PAGES 5 WORDS 1739

Isolate a theme of Lost City Radio and show how it is developed in the novel. Formulate a theme statement, then turn it into a thesis statement by indicating how you will develop it in your analysis.
an example of theme/thesis statement:
The theme of violence in Lost City Radio is developed through the use of symbolism and setting.

These are some questions that might help you formulate a theme statement:
1) Look back once more at the title of the story. From what you have read, what does it indicate?
2) Does the main character change in any way over the course of the story? Does this character arrive at any eventual realization or understanding? Are you left with any realization or understanding you did not have before?
3) Does the author make any general observations about life or human nature? Do the characters make any? (Caution: Characters now and again will utter opinions with which the reader is not necessarily supposed to agree.)
4) Does the story contain any especially curious objects, mysterious flat characters, significant animals, repeated names, song titles, or whatever, that hint at meanings larger than such things ordinarily have? In literary stories, such symbols may point to central themes.
5) When you have worded your statement of theme, have you cast it into general language, not just given a plot summary?
6) How does the novel's impartial omniscient narrator who observes the thoughts and describes the action of multiple characters and who also provides background information contribute to you understanding of the novel's theme?
7) How does the novel's recursive narrative technique contribute to your understanding of the theme as well?

To receive a passing grade on this final essay, your response should:
1) provide a title that suggests your thesis
2) provide an introduction that includes a brief overview of the novel and any background information to prepare the reader for the argument stated in the thesis statement
3) structure body paragraphs around topic sentences (not plot details) that introduce ideas implicit in the thesis statement and that indicate a logical progression developed in the essay
4) provide adequate textual evidence, including appropriate quoted material. This quoted material should be clearly contextualized and integrated and its significance interpreted (provide as much as possible)
5) choose words precisely; demonstrate competence in grammar and usage convention
6) provide in-text citation to indicate location of quoted material-Provide appropriate internal documentation and a Works Cited page if you borrow any information from any source.

Multiple scenarios, some Challenges and opportunities facing the industry and Driving forces of change

The project requires that the student provide a comparative analysis of Sirius Sattellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio companies within the Satellite Radio industry.

Industry Analysis Guidelines

Start your digging at the company's Web site. There you will find a history of the firm, descriptions of its products and services, an archive of news releases and past annual reports. Also visit www.freeEDGAR.com where you can access financial statements filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (look for quarterly 10-Q reports and annual 10-K reports). The 10-K reports typically include a lengthy section on risks the firm faces, as well as management's view of the company's prospects. You will need to learn about the firm's industry, as well as the company's competitive position and prospects. Determine exactly how the firm makes money and how financially healthy it is. (Does it have a handful of big customers or many small ones? Rising or falling debt levels? Rapidly increasing sales and profits? Piles of cash?)

At www.quicken.com/investments and www.marketguide.com, among others, growth trends, price charts and more are a click or two away. At www.office.com, you can learn a lot about many industries. Finally, you will also find industry perspectives, company news and a host of research resources at www.fool.com.

Another important step in the business research process is to learn something about your company's industry. Some questions to consider include:

What are the industry trends and areas of growth?
Who are the leading companies in the industry?
What products and services are in the greatest demand?
What new technologies?

Satellite Radio
PAGES 3 WORDS 858

The paper basics needs to tell what satellie radio is, how it works, how much it cost, and who the to major companies are in the industry. Paper needs to be in APA format

You will write a 10 page paper on Lee de Forest and his contribution to the world of Radio. You are required to provide at least 5 bibliography references.
Please include a lot references to music.

In her essay ?Hate, Radio,? Patricia J. Williams says that she hears the
?snide polemicism? of talk radio everywhere in contemporary America and that
such ?crude demagoguery? makes her sick (747). In other words, William is
saddened by ignorant and self-appointed leaders (and their followers) whose
words and ideas serve no other purpose than to set people against each
other. What worries does Williams express about certain talk radio shows?
What, according to her, are such shows doing to America? Do you agree? Why
or why not? To what extent do you agree (or disagree) that these types of
shows have infected the way Americans think and relate to each other? On
what do you base our opinion? Write an essay in which you offer an extended
analytical response to Williams? opinion by addressing these questions. Be
sure to use well-considered examples, personal experience, and observations
to illustrate your response. Keep in mind that your purpose is to respond
to the above quote from Patricia J. Williams; your essay must indicate and
be built around this purpose.

DO NOT SAY:
That Williams needs to lighten up or that she simply needs to turn off the
radio. In other words, DON?T attack the author of the essay.
A good plan of attack:
1). Reread Patricia J. Williams? ?Hate Radio? as needed, underlining and
making notes to yourself to clarify her chief points.
2). This assignment is asking you to look critically and deeply at William?s
essay in order to develop a response. The questions in boldface-type above
provide you with a starting point for developing and organizing your
thoughts. Think of each question, and other related questions that will
undoubtedly arise as you begin to formulate your own opinion, as the focus
of its own section within your essay. That is, try to answer each question
completely, using carefully considered reasons, examples, and textual
evidence that you introduce, interpret, and then respond to. Keep going
until you have answered all of the above questions thoroughly; this should
keep you focused and on-track towards a thoroughly developed response. Be
sure to provide your readers with all the background information they?ll
need to understand what prompted you to write this essay in the first place.
And, as you conclude your essay, be sure to provide your readers with a
sense of significance, of why your opinion should matter to someone other
than yourself.
3). Make notes and an outline to help you plan your paper.
4). 10-12 font size.

When I grade it I will be using the criteria in the following rubric. Keep
in mind as you draft and revise. An A essay will have thoroughly and
effectively considered each of these questions. THE FOLLOWING WILL BE
STRICTLY ENFORCED:

Do you have an effective introduction that identifies your audience, states
your purpose, and includes a thesis?

Does your thesis statement identify your topic and make an assertion about
it?

Do your paragraphs have topic sentences that relate to the assignment?s
given purpose and to the essay?s stated thesis? Do the ideas in each
paragraph relate to both its topic sentence and to the assignment?s overall
purpose? In other words, is each paragraph sufficiently developed, logically
organized, and unified, coherently built around a single, on-top progression
of thought that supports your thesis?

Have you ended your essay effectively, leaving your readers with a final
thought or challenge and thus giving your ideas broader significance?

Have you made vivid and careful observations so that your readers can easily
and immediately understand how they?re relevant to your point?

Have you analyzed your observations, explaining to your readers why you
agree or disagree with William?s opinion? That is, are you moving beyond
merely stating THAT you have a certain opinion to also discussing WHY it
matters, examining the significance and implications of your observations,
as well?

Is your thinking thought-provoking and carefully considered, reflecting a
sincere attempt to treat your subject with complexity and substance?

Is your writing clear and grammatically sensible? Are your style and tone
appropriate for academic writing at the college level?

Have you shown improvement based on your Writing Progress Log?

Have you proofread your essay for spelling, punctuation, grammar, and
formatting errors?

Type the paper in 10-12 font size only. Give it a title. It must be 3-5
double-spaced pages with one-inch margins all around and edited for
correctness. (Please note: anything less than 3 full pages is not
acceptable work.) Number your pages.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT:
Any of these errors will be taken into serious consider:
Organization, coherence, phantom quote, transition, vague/lacking
development, faulty logic, weak introduction, weak conclusion, weak thesis,
wordy, awkward wording, mumbo jumbo, diction error, syntax error, noun count
error, article/determiner error, sentence variety, shift in discourse,
sequencing, tone, mixed/inc, construction, comma splice, fragment, fused
sentence, faulty parallelism, dangling/misplaced modifier, faulty
coordination, incorrect verb tense, incorrect verb form, verb tense
consistency, subject-verb agreement, noun/adjective agreement, pronoun form,
pronoun reference, pronoun agreement, spelling error, capitalization error,
punctuation error, comma error, apostrophe error, quotation error,
documentation error, formatting error, misreading.

or you could take a position that Indian are being superior race in the book.

or you could take the position on what the book says about modern society.

Remember this is a 5 paragraph essay, I don?t want you to do research on this paper. You could give counter arguments, examples and opinions to support your position. Do Not use the word ?it? when write this essay.

What is "AXES"?
A good AXES-form paragraph contains each of these elements.

A Assertion
An assertion (also known as a topic sentence) is your statement about the topic under consideration. Just as a thesis informs the reader of the topic of an essay, a good assertion lets the reader know the topic of a paragraph. An assertion should take a stand or make a claim about an issue. It should reveal your position on the topic. In addition, a topic sentence should warrant discussion; it should be a position or stand that is not obvious or self-explanatory. Make your assertion unique or controversial.

X eXample
An assertion requires proof or evidence. An example is a quote or passage from the reading that supports or proves your assertion. Your example should be a direct quote from the text. Select phrases or sentences that confirm ("back up") your assertion.

E Explanation
Examples (quotes) require explanation, that is, you must spell out or demonstrate how your example actually supports, or proves your assertion. A good explanation illustrates or shows how the quote confirms your claim.

S Significance
Importance is a synonym for significance; so is consequence. Every paragraph should include a statement that tells the reader what makes your assertion important. Significance answers the question "So what?" It also shows how your assertion is related to real life. Your significance should tell the reader how this paragraph is significant to your thesis statement.

the e-Activity
Research the Internet for an article that describes how an industry of your choice is using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. Examine the uses, advantages, and disadvantages of RFID technology. Be prepared to discuss.

Part 1 write a one page
From the e-Activity assume that you are a CTO of a retail organization that has adopted the RFID technology. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages your organization could experience with this technology in relation to the organization?s supply chain and logistics Imagine the information system for Wal-Mart was suddenly nonexistent. Choose the data management system you would put back in operation first. Justify your response.
22
Part 2 write a one page
Imagine you are starting a Web business and want to incorporate cloud technology. Describe how you would incorporate cloud technology into your business model. Justify your response. Assume you are a CIO of a startup company. The company needs to implement an IT infrastructure. Describe the infrastructure and argue which of the four characteristics of an IT infrastructure (dependable, manageable, adaptable, and affordable) is the most important to consider when acquiring IT infrastructure support components. Support your response.
