Worldview, Thesis Statement and Outline

America's positive contribution towards the other economies

Personal Worldview: America -- a Wealthy Nation

This topic is about the fundamental phenomenon of comparison among the nations. This comparison is usually based on different factors such as wealth, power, economy, foreign affairs, to name a few. These factors infer a generalized view of the subject matter. It is little complex to define these factors precisely and specifically. For example, it is difficult to identify that what constitutes a powerful nation. It could be the largest and huge number of soldiers which makes a nation powerful or may be the advancement in technology and innovation makes a nation powerful. However idea can be generated from the generalized view. This idea can give a precise and specific aspect of the subject matter.

My view of a nation being wealthy is that the people of the country can easily afford the basic necessities of life i.e. food, shelter and cloths, as well as also have the purchasing power to buy the luxuries of life. This is possible in the countries where strong economies prevail. People have the properties, savings, investments etc. All these factors contribute towards being wealthy. Keister (2005) says that wealth is the things people own, including their homes, savings, investments, real estate, businesses, and vehicles. It is usually measured as net worth, the sum of assets less the sum of debts.

Over the years America has evolved as a strong economic hub. The land, agriculture, trade and other business activities all happened to be fortunate for the people of America. Though the unfortunate circumstances do occur but the growing economies easily coup up and retains the original position. With the passage of time, America's economic, social and legal structures have helped to turn the country into a wealthy nation (Buckingham, 1970). Today, America has significant involvement in the affairs of different countries of the World and strong contribution in helping out the poorest countries.
