Freshman Applicant

¶ … Ambitious Goal Most people set goals for themselves, and diligently strive to obtain them. The goal I have set for myself is to attend college in order to not only enrich my life, but gain the necessary skills to become a productive member of society. Strong Background In order to do well in college, a person must first have a strong, educational background.

I am a seventeen-year-old male who is currently maintaining high academic marks in high school, and plan on using my strong study habits to excel while attending college. Love of Sports Not only have I excelled academically, but I have made sports a focal point of my life. Last year I competed on the varsity track and cross-country team during all four seasons, and will do so again this year.

The race I am the most competitive in is the 3000 meter steeplechase, and my practice and hard work paid off last June when I not only placed fourth in the county championships, but was also awarded the MVP. I hope to become a member of the college track team, and am sure that my dedication and competitive spirit will be a tremendous asset to the team. Support System In order for a person to be well rounded, they must also have a strong support system.

I have been blessed to receive this support from my numerous friends, who good naturally tease me about my size, speed and appetite. Although I have a large appetite, my metabolism and dedication to training work to keep me thin, with no body fat. My friends also are some of my biggest supporters and inspirations, as they constantly tell me that I cannot be caught in a race, giving me a goal to shoot for in order to make them proud.

Family and Work No one can succeed without a strong family support system. However, it is important to not only draw strength from your family, but to be a contributor as well. Family is an important part of who I am, and with their guidance and love I have established strong moral values. Although I maintain a busy schedule with schoolwork and sports, I have still found time to work part-time at a local ice cream parlor during the past two years.

While some people depend on their parents for all of their financial needs, I believe work builds a strong character, and I should be financially responsible for as much as I can. An Overall View In today's world, it is important for everyone to obtain a college education in order to succeed. I am excited about taking.
