Explanation Of Programming

The term programming cannot be described in simple terms. With time, various definitions, which covers programming from the very simple to the extreme complex view have been evolved.

A very basic definition of programming has to be given to children ranging within the age group of 8 to 10 years. Programming to them can be described as a set of instructions given to a computer to do a certain task. Software that works on a computer is made with the help of programming. Even video games that children play on their computers have been evolved through programming. Programming can be done in various languages and every language in which a program is written has its own rule. For example, consider two people named Sarah and Genevieve. Sarah is an American and thus speaks English where as Genevieve is from France and thus speaks French. Sarah will not be able to understand Genevieve if Genevieve speaks to her in French. Hence, Genevieve would have to speak English and follow the rules of the English language to make Sarah understand what she is saying.

Thus, computer programming works in a similar way. Every program has to follow the rule of its own language for the computer to understand what it's trying to say.
