Weber Theory: Discussion

The theory of Weber is the discussion of the fact that every human action is linked with the psychological understanding and social behavior associated with the human personality. In many of the cases it has been difficult to predict the course of action selected by an individual, and often it has been realized that the selected course of action contradict the general human understanding on the subject. Many have linked such differences with the difference in approach, and the clash of personality. Weber's theory contradicts such clash, and has justified the adoption of different and unexpected course of action. Weber theory has supported the prevalent differences within social elements, and has regarded such differences as differences in mannerism and conduct, not homogeneity on objectivity of the action. In lieu with the theory and understanding of Weber, it is important to consider the significance of the fundamental facts, and this require an exercise which achieves the subjective interpretation of the actions, which encompasses the scope and effectiveness of the action, and its impact.

Weber is in agreement with the concept of collective entities, and has accepted the fact that the mind of an individual is based on common sense, and the manner in which his or her perception about any event or society is built. It is important to take into account the factor of causal influence, this influence is either inherited through professional affiliation or personal like ness, which is further responsible for the duplicity in human behavior towards society. The human actions are to be differentiated not only on the basis of the objectivity with reference to the action, but it is important to include the surrounding conditions which play a significant part. The past of an individual is another dimension which needed to be thoroughly reviewed to ascertain the course behind the duplicity of human nature, and human behavior towards society. Duplicity is not about double standards, but it is analogous to human failure to reveal its purpose. Therefore as per the theory of Weber, it is not appropriate to get offensive, or adopt a course of a condemnation towards the doubted actions of an individual, because that is the reflection of duplicity. Therefore the approval with reference to the normative pattern should not be based on human conduct, but it should be incorporated with broaden scope so as to determine and verify the scope and purpose.

It is important for the critics to reach the proper interpretation with reference to the actions of an individual; the interpretation should be based on the certainty instead of assumptions, because this will not at all bring us towards the understanding of the performer's action, vision and perspective. The major reason which is attributed for the criticism on the actions of an individual is the conflicting motives. Unless the motives are well-defined, it is more likely that critics will propose critical and hypothetical explanation that has more to do complexity of the issue, instead of its resolution. Therefore a comprehensive review of the past, present and future condition is must to determine the reason behind the adoption of a particular course of action, and that has more to do with the research on the life and activities of the individual, the criticism should be avoided to cease any possibility for the isolation of the character.

AFRICAN STORY

During my recent interaction with the group of people from Africa, I realized that African politics is not what it has been depicted through media and press. The governments of African countries have been widely condemned for the corrupt practices, and in many of the cases, the countries have been threaten of dire consequences if the countries fails to uplift transparency, in terms of democratic values and financial growth. The group disclosed that widely-condemned Africans countries have adopted the course of corrupt practices, much because the international companies have continuously sought heavy aid and loyalty from the government officers in exchange for the exploration of oil and gas reserves in the continent. In the case of Nigeria, which is considered to be the top most corrupt country in the world, the Nigerian government has developed understanding with many international petroleum companies, these companies are involved in such unethical and illegal practices, through which these companies offer bribes to the government in exchange for the grant for exploration. According to one of the delegate, it is international community which has compelled the African nations to adopt corrupt course of action so as to secure monetary success. Therefore the practices of the African countries actually have a reason behind, and the reason is not greed or any other immoral value, but it is the consortium of internal petroleum companies which has forced the nations to adopt uh course of action. Therefore with reference to Weber's theory, it is important to seek the motivation that forces the local government for such decree of crime.

SOUTH ASIAN STORY

In another case, I came across the news paper which reported the arrest of a person who was accused of killing his wife and six children including five daughters. The person belonged to South Asian country and was occupationally a farmer. According to the news, the person was facing severe financial crisis, and was under immense pressure of the landlords to whom he owe plenty of money. The landlords give the farmer a deadline for the deposition of money, failing to do so will lead to the arrest of his daughters by the forceful landlords. The action of farmer is atrocious and inhumane, and can never be tolerated; such citizens can never progress and succeed, were different phrases of humiliation he received. However, looking into the situation of the poor farmer, for him his family is his dignity and pride, which is more valuable than the land and money he owns, he can never see his family getting captivated by mighty landlords. He was helpless because the local law enforcement agencies were under the influence of the landlords, the court did not give him any cover, much because the villagers preferred their own local courts, chaired by the eldest, not professionals. Killing can never be justified, and of course he should faced the trail, but according to Weber's theory if we look into the motivation as a reason that compelled the farmer to perform such heinous crime, perhaps we can neither agree to what he did, nor contradict the poor farmer.
