Legal issues and regulatory compliance in unionized organizations
Abstract
A relationship between employees and their employers is vital for the success of the business. This has been the motto behind Southwest Airline's strategic management plan, mission, vision, and goals. However, this strategy is under threat from the airline's recruitment and hiring policy, which has led to a lawsuit from male applicants. This analysis explores the legal issues and impact of the lawsuit facing the company. In addition, a detail analysis of the company's unionization process and current benefits from its membership with the Transport Workers Union of America, and Airline Attendants Union are described.

Collective bargaining principles and practice
There are many ways in which collective bargaining can shape companies, unions, and workers. With that in mind, this paper explores two case studies where collective bargaining has been used. One is an airline/flight attendant case, and the other is designed to address workplace threats and the damaging of company property. Both cases have questions regarding them that must be answered.
