This paper focuses on Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, 558 U.S. 310 (2010), a Supreme Court case in which the Court was called upon to decide the constitutionality of section 203 of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (BCRA). The BCRA had prohibited unions and corporations from making contributions to political action committees in certain federal elections. The Court deemed the law unconstitutional.
