What is Children?

Children as a subject within Family Science sits at the intersection of developmental psychology, education, and social policy. Courses in child development, family studies, counseling, and education theory regularly ask students to examine how biological, social, and institutional forces shape children's growth. The topic is academically rich because it connects individual development to broader systems — families, schools, and communities — making it relevant across multiple disciplines. Recurring concerns include how children build cognitive and emotional abilities, how parents and educators support or hinder that process, and how thinkers such as David Elkind have challenged dominant assumptions about childhood, education, and the pressure placed on young learners.

Papers on this topic approach the subject from several distinct angles. Some take a research-design or empirical focus, examining the effects of divorce on children through structured methodologies or single-subject designs. Others are observational, drawing on direct child observation to analyze developmental behavior in real settings. Policy and persuasive angles appear in work on physical education, inclusion education, and competitive versus play-based learning. Literary and rhetorical analysis also surfaces, as in examinations of Cinderella stories, showing that childhood is studied not only through data but through cultural texts. Counseling-focused papers address therapeutic interventions, while nonprofit and community-program angles explore how institutions serve children's needs.

A strong essay on children scopes its thesis around a specific population, context, or outcome rather than addressing childhood in general. Evidence drawn from developmental research, case studies, or policy analysis carries the most weight. The most common pitfall is treating children as a passive subject rather than engaging with how their own agency, environment, and relationships interact to shape outcomes.

Strategy implementation at Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola: Strategy Implementation The Coca-Cola Company's organization is a double-edged sword. The Company's structure is one of global decentralization in which the Company manufactures and sells concentrates, bases and syrups, owns the brands and conducts marketing initiatives, while its global "partners" manufacture, package, merchandise and distribute the final products. This business model involves a "tall hierarchy" of at least 5 levels in which daily operations are apparently left to lower levels while long-term planning and extended-vision is handled by higher levels. The Company also employs committees to handle vital functions such as audit and budget, while using task forces to study unusual-but-possible repetitive problems that may arise for the Company. The management style is apparently very culturally adaptable, optimistic, passionate, responsible and rewarding, having lower level management handle day-to-day operations while upper management focuses on long-range objectives. The Company's conflict-resolution style is also quite adaptable, using Ombudsmen who are confidential, neutral and independent, so employees can freely voice concerns about essentially any employee concern. Taking all organizational elements into consideration, Coca-Cola's organization is at once highly beneficial yet a hindrance to its mission, vision and strategy. The Company's global decentralization has allowed the company to readily establish, enhance and maintain its presence worldwide, adapt more easily to different cultures and free higher corporate management to concentrate on "the big picture." Simultaneously, global decentralization has harmed Coca-Cola's mission, vision and strategy by decreasing coordination between divisions, increasing miscommunication up and down its "tall hierarchy," increasing the uncertainty of the Company's business environments, and increasing the Company's vulnerability to suppliers of raw materials.

Ethical limits on marketing harmful products to vulnerable consumers
In order to realize themselves as socially responsible corporate entities, business organizations have to maintain a sound ethical track record in every aspect of their business (Arnold 2009). They have to formulate their business policies and strategies in such a fashion that no societal values are exploited and no human being is harmed in any way (Crane & Matten 2007). It is essential for organizations to keep themselves on the safest ethical path in their marketing, promotional, and general operational activities (Lamb, Hair, & McDaniel 2012). It cannot only save them from severe criticism by their stakeholders, but also contribute towards a sustainable future in their industry. Respecting the ethical values and social norms of a society helps an organization in standing on competitive grounds among its competitors and strengthening its public image (Abela & Murphy 2008).
