This is a seven-day journal of listening behaviors, followed by a reflective assessment of those behaviors and a summary of future goals to improve listening. It deals with issues such as barriers to effective listening, as well as positive methods to improve listening skills. Restating the other person's words, reflection, avoiding judgement, and stereotyping are all addressed.

It is popularly believed that countries, where religion has major influence in governance, tend to develop slower than those where religious beliefs are not a main influence or consideration.

There are many orders that are given in the military. Some of these may not seem ethical to some people, and that can cause problems with following those orders. To find a way around the issue of military orders that may be unethical, there are several arguments that can be used. The one chosen here is virtue ethics. It will be shown how this mindset can be used in order to follow military orders, because they can be found to be ethical in context.

There is much controversy concerning the American public and the degree to which its tendency to ignore foreign ideas affects its ability to play an active role within the community. Americans firstly failed in many of their attempts to establish connections with other peoples because of their tendency to consider stereotypes when interacting with these respective communities. American relations with Barbary States were characterized by the American public being bombarded with information involving the harsh contrast between the cruel Barbary Pirates and the freedom-loving American society.

Some of the differences found in state governments and how they treat their employees can be discerned by how many or how few collective bargaining rights those employees are afforded.

In 2009, Frank Bainimarama, the self-appointed Prime Minister of Fiji said that freedom of speech causes trouble and is to blame for his country's political turmoil (ABC News, 2009).

The Peloponessian War has been studied in great detail because it helps to bring historical perspective to the era when Sparta and Athens were great powers in the Mediterranean. The central focus of this paper relates to who actually started the war, and a great deal of scholarship is presented that explains all the conditions and tensions that existed prior to the war.
