Target Corporation is a renowned retailing company in the United States that has developed to become the second-largest firm within the industry, behind Walmart. The article provides an analysis of the company's recent financial performance based on its 2010 annual report. Some of the issues addressed in the analysis include the major sections of the annual report, factors that contributed to its financial performance, its primary assets, and how its management characterizes internal control environment of the firm.

The Urbanest company is expanding into the UAE. This is the first time that the company has entered into a Muslim country. As such, HRM plans need to be adjusted to deal with this reality. This will provide some unique challenges. However, given the friendly history of the UAE's acceptance of foreign companies, the penetration of the company into this environment should be able to occur successfully. Analysis Cultural Basis- Before any other issues are considered, the factor of Muslim religion and culture need to be factored in. The company has always prided itself upon accommodating its operations to student needs in ways that traditional university facilities could or would not. This is specifically a point that the company has advertised in press releases to potential student tenants in the UAE ("U-rooms.com partners with," 2010). Before any of our other questions are to be answered, the company must very proactively communicate and actuate its support for and accommodation to the the needs of the Muslim faithful. On what basis should Urbanest compete in the UAE? (price, service, niche etc?). What do you suggest the mission and vision should be for Urbanest in Dubai?

This case study estimates and quantifies road traffic emissions and determines how they could have a bearing on the transportation sector in Jakarta, Indonesia. The study consisted of three steps. First, to analyse the current data about characteristics of transportation such us traffic volume, average speed and proportion of vehicles in the main streets of Jakarta. Second, to examine these parameters within a particular air pollution model to determine the impact of the pollution this has occurred. Finally, based on the data provided, the third step was aimed at establishing any instantaneous scenario and some recommendations which could be under taken by Jakarta city government to reduce air pollution.
