About This Topic

Texas is one of the most academically rich U.S. states to study, attracting attention across political science, history, environmental science, law, and criminal justice courses. Its size, demographic diversity, economic significance, and distinct political culture make it a productive subject for analysis at nearly every level of undergraduate and graduate study. Landmark legal cases such as Lawrence v. Texas, historical programs like the Bracero Program spanning 1942 to 1964, and foundational documents such as the Texas Constitution of 1876 give students concrete anchors for exploring broader questions about governance, civil rights, and regional identity. Figures like Lyndon B. Johnson further connect Texas history to national political narratives, deepening the state's relevance across disciplines.

Student papers on this subject take a wide range of approaches. Historical and historiographical analyses examine events like the Bracero Program to trace labor and immigration policy over time. Legal case studies, including Lawrence v. Texas, apply constitutional frameworks to questions of civil rights and judicial decision-making. Policy and systems-focused essays address topics such as the Texas election system and differences between adult and juvenile corrections. Environmental and engineering papers tackle issues ranging from petroleum and natural gas management to the threat chytrid fungus poses to amphibian biodiversity. Cultural and ethical analysis also appears, with papers examining social issues and coaching ethics through works like Friday Night Lights.

A strong essay on a Texas-related topic begins with a clearly scoped thesis that connects the state-level subject to a broader academic question. Evidence drawn from primary sources, case law, historical records, or policy documents carries the most weight. One common pitfall is treating Texas as exceptional without grounding that claim in specific comparative or historical evidence, which can leave arguments feeling asserted rather than demonstrated.

Reasons for belief in the external world and justification of knowledge
This order reviews the concept of whether or not we as human beings are able to prove the external world actually exists. Essentially, we are limited by our own perceptions. Descartes asked us to doubt all that we could not prove in absolute certainty. Thus, because we cannot rely on our senses entirely, they do not provide sufficient enough evidence to say we know that the external world exists around us with absolute truth.

Groundwater Pollution Issues How Does America\'s Groundwater
Groundwater Pollution Issues Introduction How does America's groundwater become polluted and what are the sources of pollution that goes into the groundwater? How important is unpolluted groundwater to the sustainability of communities? Also, what are the solutions for this pollution of the groundwater? These issues and others will be reviewed in this paper. Groundwater Facts According to William M. Alley, writing in the peer-reviewed journal Environment, groundwater exists "…almost everywhere beneath the land surface" and it plays a "crucial role in sustaining streamflow between precipitation events" and in particular during "protracted dry periods" (Alley, 2006, p. 16). Alley explains that about 85 billion gallons of groundwater are "withdrawn daily," and upwards of ninety percent of that water is used for "…irrigation, public supply (deliveries to homes businesses, industry) and self-supplied industrial use" (Alley, 16). Of those 85 billion gallons withdrawn from groundwater sources daily, nearly two-thirds is used for irrigation, Alley explains. Also, groundwater provides about half of the drinking water needed by U.S. communities, and moreover, there is a problem with groundwater in that information on its use is "…spotty and often inaccurate within the United States" (Alley, 17). Laws that regulate the use of groundwater "…vary significantly from state to state and from one water-use category to another…" (Alley, 17).

Puerto Rico has been a major residential area of Hispanic community. Due to its easy route availability to mainland, low prices, better tourist attractions and other amiable factors, it is also an ideal destination for the feudal gangs who wish to have a suitable neighborhood as their territorial jurisdiction offering an inlet into the Mainland.

Strategic analysis of Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines has mainly succeeded due to its focus on cutting low prices. In fact, SWA has managed to topple many a competitor due to their inability to match the company's prices. The airline, however, still has approximately 50 more destinations that it can expand to, many of them in countries that are serviced by other airlines that are overpriced and inefficient. One of these destinations is the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport that is over-priced and under-serviced. By redirecting their focus on costs, SWA can leverage its growth, amplify its strengths and shore its weaknesses. An example was given by the recommendation of redirecting its fuel costs elsewhere. The political and social situation is, no doubt, challenging to SWA in that it threatens one of its greatest strengths – its ability to undercut prices. Nonetheless, SWA can take steps to deal with those challenges, mainly by continuing with their strategic focus and redirecting costs elsewhere. In this way, Southwest can continue its current growth Without having to vastly deviate from its current operational strategy.
