As President Obama stated in his addresses to Congress in February 2009, the most important problem that the country faced was the economy, which was in the worst recession since the 1930s. This affected both domestic and foreign policy, since the country would probably have to reduce military spending and its commitments overseas as it did during the Great Depression, so for the Obama administration economic recovery was the primary goal. He did promise that "the weight of this crisis will not determine the destiny of this nation" (Obama Address, 2009, p. 1). He promised that the government would deal with unemployment, lack of affordable housing and health care, a failing education system, energy self-sufficiency, revival of the auto industry, an unfair tax system, and weak regulation of the financial system, so that the recession would not be endless. Many women within the textile mills of New England were able to adjust to and attempt to overcome poor working conditions by fostering a sense of community between one another. Doing so enabled these female workers to organize their efforts into union. Under the leadership of such unions, these laborers were able to strike and shut down the operation of these mills to protest specific aspects of labor conditions.

In this paper I compare and contrast the literary works of Alice Walker and Patricia Smith. In particular I look at the poetry of Smith and a Walker short story titled 'A welcome table'. I explore the manifestation of race, racism, and triumphant individualism. I do explore the preceding themes by situating the two works in the larger context of racialized fictional literature.

We now live in a society that has a much higher percentage of older adults than any previous generation. Still, older adults are often marginalized and rarely interact with younger people, many believing "old people" have nothing to offer. The modern environment is faced with a number of problems that directly relate to aging. Despite these impressive statistics however, Orange is suffering for a very high level of customer churn in its core markets, is challenged with how to ramp up into the smart phone market globally (which could revolutionize their business if they succeed at it), and continual lean process improvements over time (Andlauer, Pouillot, 2011) (Orange Investor Relations, 2012). The continual consolidation of the European and global telecommunications provider industry as evidenced by rapid price declines (Benzoni, Deffains, Nguyen, Saleese, 2011) and the nationalization of telecommunications services by governments is increasing the intensity of competition (Clifton, Comín, Díaz-Fuentes, 2011). Amidst all of these challenges the potential of 3G networks and their high ARPU levels offer considerable upside revenue potential for the company going forward (Orange Investor Relations, 2012). Smartphone integration will be integral to this effort however. The intent of this strategic marketing plan is to provide an audit of the company today, an assessment of their macroenvironment, market analysis, competitive overviews, market shares of competitors, profitability analysis and SWOT analysis of the company, The core strategy of the company will also be assessed. Marketing mix decisions and control points will also be provided as part of the analysis.

Abstract In basic terms, conflict is a struggle between two or more forces holding opposing views. The said conflict could either be internal or external. In this text, I largely concern myself with conflict in Shiloh. In so doing, I will be highlighting the opposing forces in the short story.

This paper particularly focuses on the impact of Vitamin D on Breast Cancer. Since health concerns have become a widespread issue, thus researcher on a constant basis are carrying out investigations that can determine the exact causes of diseases like breast cancer. One particular study has come under focus in this dissertation that lay key emphasis on African and European American descents and how these races are vulnerable to breast cancer. Moreover, the impact of vitamin D on breast cancer has also been widely included in the study.

Women who drink alcohol during pregnancy risk the health of the fetus and implicitly, the health of the child after birth. There are few studies made on humans in what concerns alcohol and interferences in prenatal development. That is why research is primarily based on animal studies. It is difficult to determine the exact amount of alcohol that can influence the fetus' development in a negative way and that is way women who plan to have a baby or women who found out that are pregnant should stop drinking during their pregnancies. Some of the most important consequences of severe exposure to alcohol during pregnancy are fetal alcohol syndrome or the death of the fetus. These two, are not the only negative effects that the alcohol has on prenatal development. The brain of the fetus and the healthy development of the fetus' body are also affected by alcohol.

Teh document contains a number of reactions to readings regarding poverty and social situations that might contribute to poverty or other challenges. Particularly, these challenges relate to marginalized peoples of the world. More often than not, imperialism and a sense of superiority has been at the basis of gross injustices committed by colonialist nations.

This essay examines the one-act play Trifles in order to see how its choice of protagonist affects its political message. By making its main characters two women, the play is able to show how women are simultaneously forced into certain roles and then dismissed as unimportant for acting out those roles. The two women's decision to hide evidence at the end of the play arises from their realization of this contradiction, because they are eventually able to understand the plight of the woman accused of murdering her husband.
