I didn't elaborate on the offensive behavior I displayed because I thought it would lead to the letter becoming more personal than business like. Finally, I closed the letter by wishing the recipient the best. Overall, I wanted the letter to sound uncontrived and sincere.
As I mentioned, it was my father who helped me compose the letter, so he proofread it as well. Being a neophyte in the business letter-writing arena then, I had concerns about grammar and sentence construction. I had full confidence in my father's ability to proofread because he was a former English professor.
