The firm needs to change its response policies in times of crisis.

For one it must understand what is meant by social responsibility and prepare a clear mission statement that takes this into consideration. The firm must establish a crystal clear policy on ethics. The employees should know where the firm stands where ethical problems are concerned.

The firm must also understand that blaming others is the surefire way of earning public disfavor and distrust. Even in cases where others are at fault too, an organization that wants to win public's trust should only focus on the areas where it had failed the consumers.

Media's interest must not be underestimated. In fact this interest can be used to your advantage with correct strategies.

Your firm should always believe in instant recall of products if they are found to be faulty.
