Art of Selling: My Two Experiences
A career in selling has its own challenges. This is particularly the case given that to be able to sell any product or item, one has to not only persuade but also convince the prospective buyer that the item in question is beneficial and worthy of purchase. In an attempt to enhance their sales, some salespeople tend to be rather dishonest especially with regard to the claims they make about the ability of specific products to satisfy a want. In that regard, therefore, not all our encounters with salespeople end up being captivating and memorable. Indeed, I have had my share of bad moments with salespeople as will be highlighted elsewhere in this text
Most Memorable Experience with a Salesperson
My most memorable interaction with a salesperson took place during the December festive seasons. We were shopping for a good lawn mower and a friend recommended a certain brand of the same and offered us contact details of a salesman whom she had purchased a similar product from. I immediately dialed the salesman's number and on the other end of the line was an extremely courteous man who promised to pay us a visit the very next day to discuss our specific needs. The salesman did not disappoint. Indeed, he was at our door step at the appointed time and without the slightest sign of exaggeration proceeded to compare his company's brand with what the competition had to offer. This was after we zeroed-in on the ideal product (interims of size, mode of operation...
Positions such as Administrative Assistant and Front Office Manager for Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International consequently strengthened my job qualifications and established me as an effective communicator. My main goal as a Front Office Manager and Customer Representative was to establish credibility. Art of the Invisible: Listening Responses Radio as Storytelling Like all artistic media, there are subtle and unique elements to radio which distinguish it from other forms such as the written word, TV or film. Nowhere must the radio producer be more cognizant of the uniqueness of radio than in the radio documentary. The most intriguing of this week's listening was Rudolph Arnheim's piece "In Praise of Blindness." He disputes the idea
personal leadership style depends on experience and self-awareness. "To thine own self be true" does not seem like a maxim relevant to leadership, but during our interview, Jane Carson described how personal integrity and honesty directly relates to leading a group. The informational interview conducted for this project focused on Ms. Carson's own leadership experiences and how they helped her develop a personal leadership philosophy. Echoing what the class
Pervasive Video Games as Art The form and function of art has evolved and changed quite a bit over the years, decades and millennia. Paintings and sculpture have been artistic mainstays for much to most of the world of the civilized human race. However, with the technological revolution that has roared up over the last fifty years or so, new forms of art have bubbled to the proverbial surface. Digital technology
CRM and Car Buying The world of business has come a long way since the only maxim was "The customer is always right." One of the most important new versions of that age-old wisdom is the model of "customer relationship management" or CRM. This paper examines that strategy, which is a model of doing business in which various techniques are used to learn more about the needs and behaviors of the
In many ways, students live both in the land-based or physical world as well as in the virtual world; leading what some considers parallel lives. Helliwell & Putman (2004) posit that social networking sites may offer an avenue for the development of greater social capital which may serve to further reinforce students' likelihood of integrating Facebook and other social media sites into their regular routines. A suggestion made as to the
