The DSM5 is the fifth version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychological Association. The diagnostic criteria in it vary widely, based on the particular disorder being discussed. For a person to be diagnosed as having a particular mental health disorder, he or she must meet the criteria spelled out in the manual for that specific disorder.
