How is Project Termination handled in your organization, if this is a Pre-Paid Phone Cards company?
In terms of a pre-paid phone card company, project termination is determined by several constituting factors. The basis for which approach is necessary is primarily based on the project type itself. Project termination, in full consideration of its most direct implication, regards a process of deployment through the various departments and sectors involved with the project. The termination process proceeds from the higher chain of management and down through to the other involved components and individuals, as is the properly attributed method in various other similar markets (Mind Tools, 2004). Much directive is placed in the recall of products, marketing outputs, & other pertaining materials or offered services associated with the phone card networks.
Sometimes, it becomes difficult to implement a project successfully without "buy in" from upper management. What actions can you, as a project manager, take to obtain "buy in"? How do you manage the project when there is minimal support from upper management?
In order to obtain 'buy-in' as a project manager, the most effective approach involves the etiquette of effective internal networking. Developing contacts, both new and old, that would be particularly inclined to the outlining constructs of the project. Word of mouth is the most successful method for such objectives, and as such, would apply directly to efforts toward obtaining 'buy-in' (F.M.L., 2007). Managing a project where little support is present from upper management requires a precise degree of stable consistency in the way of project deployment, supervision and follow-up. There is much ado with executive decision making. When topics and issues arise where input or answers are likely to be unpredictable without higher level determination, a project manager is forced to put his/her best judgment to use while considering every potential avenue for adjustment.
3) Completion dates are excellent points for performance metrics. How much overdue? How late?...etc. These are all excellent measurements that can be made.
