Request for retroactive withdrawal from Simon Fraser University

SFU Withdrawal

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to request a withdrawal for one semester. During my time at Simon Fraser University, I faced significant financial hardships and familial difficulties. At the time, I lived alone with my sister in Canada, who was in high school at the time. As my sister's main means of support, I had to work two part time jobs in order to ensure that we had food on the table and a roof over our heads. In addition to these difficult demands, I faced the challenges of attending university.

During this period, I was overwhelmed by financial and family obligations, making it difficult to take the time or be able to afford a visit a doctor or therapist. As a result, I have no therapist or medical documents to support my financial or family difficulties. I did not speak to the instructor, as I did not feel that he would understand my situation.

As a result of these difficulties and responsibilities, I had a great deal of trouble focusing on my school work. Eventually, these problems resulted in an academic standing was inadequate to proceed on to second year at Simon Fraser.

A major family problem also played a role in this my academic difficulties at the time. I will be happy to provide details of this issue if you contact me directly.
