Part A: Justification of action taken

Corporate citizenship acknowledges that a firm or business has environmental, cultural, and social responsibilities to society whereby it seeks a license to operate. It also shows that it has a financial and economic responsibility to the shareholders and an organization's immediate stakeholders. In the current global economy, corporate responsibility within a business is crucial. Nonetheless, Birch (2017) argues that the concept of corporate citizenship is vital for any organization. It shows the company its value and makes it easy to optimize its core competencies to address the goals and opportunities. It operates on context issues in its ESG (Environmental, social, and governance) aspects. When a company has a strong corporate environmental and social performance, it ensures its overall strategy is achieved. When a company creates an excellent CSR platform that optimizes its core competencies and works to address the operating context issues, goals, and opportunities, it delivers a more measurable business value (Enderle, 2021). Corporate citizenship professionals create social and business value by using community involvement partnerships and engaging with stakeholders to assess the ESG effects and opportunities.

There may be challenges in defending the argument amongst the executive team. Some may think that keeping up with corporate citizenship is time-consuming. A lot of time may be consumed while ensuring that this concept is workable in the workplace and its benefits are witnessed across all the departments. It could also prove to be expensive since it needs strategic alignment. However, the alignment means that all departments must be trained and educated on how they should work to achieve corporate citizenship goals. They are also taught the principles of the concept, which entail facilitating change through education, empowering others, compliance, and promoting local knowledge, among others (Windsor, 2017). The theory of decision-making is applied in this concept. When it is done correctly, corporate citizenship has proven to be a great investment of time, resources, and money. To ensure that the CSR programs continue getting the attention and funding they need, a company must show positive feedback through improvements in its Return on Investment (ROI) (Chakraborty,2001). The other outcome is that it has successfully retained the existing employees and attracted the new ones. A business committed to improving the world will likely attract more talent. It shows how vital the employees are to take social responsibility. Corporate citizenship efforts foster a more positive and productive work environment for a company's workers.

Part B: How your program has prepared you for this action

The program has been adopted because of...…even promoted better performance. It has also created the ability to effectively communicate with other workers in a company to facilitate teamwork and increase productivity. Good communication with the managers creates a better understanding of the skills and talents of the employees. It also makes it easy to give others clear instructions, especially those best suited for the task, making one more effective. The course has also improved my self-management skills. I can work well without any supervision. I have also assessed my health through self-management skills, prioritized my responsibilities, and worked on them. I have also learned the need to focus when doing something and perform one thing at a time. I have also been patient as I wait for the results after doing something. I have also been conscious of my health and wellness, efficiently evaluating my progress. The final skill learned from the course is problem-solving. Challenges are inevitable in the workplace, and it is vital to use the best ways of solving them. The problem-solving skills that one develops may cause positive or negative ones in an organization. Throughout the course, there have been situations that need practical problem-solving skills. Such situations have been crucial in helping employability, especially in this era where most businesses face challenges.
