Building and Maintaining a Networking

The objective of this study is to discuss the strategy students, individuals and businesses can employ in building lasting networking and business relationships. The study suggests exploring the internal and external environment when building the relationships. For example, students can build their relationships with friends, joining social organizations and participating in volunteering. Moreover, the online social networking has been identified as an effective tool to develop an effective networking.

"Successful networking requires a positive mindset. Positive networking focuses on giving, not just taking. Taking time to help others develops lasting relationships based on trust and respect. Students should look for opportunities to grow new friendships, add value to these relationships, and communicate frequently with these friends." (Addams, 2010 p 41).

In the contemporary business and social environment, creating and maintaining business relationships is an effective strategy to create long-term business opportunities. Moreover, people like to deal with people, and networking is the best strategy to meet people and engaging with them. The internal networking consists of making friends with co-workers or co-students. The university environment is the best place to make friends and building a long-lasting relationship. It is essential to realize that many students will become professionals after their graduation, thus, the relationships that have been built in schools will be advantageous to them after graduation.
The external networking can be built at dinners, board meeting,, cocktail events, and cocktail parties. One of the advantages internal and external networking is to build long lasting relationships to grow the business. For example, the internal and external relationship can make the business owners build the market base and have access to quality suppliers. In the contemporary business environment, building a market base is advantageous to enhance competitive market advantages, and without the quality market base, business will not be to compete both in the internally and in external markets environments. Moreover, building effective external networking is critical to get access to the quality suppliers and build a market base. In the contemporary business environment, no business can survive without quality suppliers. The quality of suppliers will assist organizations to produce quality products and achieve competitive advantages.
