¶ … Masters of Finance program for a number of reasons. I believe that my experience, my education and my determination make me the ideal candidate for this program. I have demonstrated in the past the skills that make me an outstanding student, an asset to the program, and a valuable alumnus. This letter will explain why I want to earn my Masters of Finance. It will explain the role that this degree will have in my career development. It will explain why I am suited for this program.
This is the right program for me and I know that I have a lot to offer this program, my classmates and this prestigious institution. For many years, I have had an interest in finance. My aptitude for numbers has been evident since high school, and since that point I have built on this skill a resume that supports my current application.
My educational background demonstrates clearly my ability to deal with business concepts and the advanced mathematics that I will need in order to master Black-Scholes, CAPM and the other concepts that I will be studying as a part of this program. My grades have been outstanding, and I have received commendation for my abilities. The academic references that I am using to support my application are testament to my abilities and potential in this field.
I believe that my work experience also supports my application, both in terms of content and in terms of my work ethic. My past employers have provided me with the opportunity to gain exposure to the financial field, and I have taken it upon myself to expand my role within these organizations. I have been able to make demonstrable contributions to my past employers in terms of financial performance, predominantly based on my finance and accounting abilities.
I have also been able to demonstrate my work ethic during my employment experiences. I am known as a hard worker who is willing to contribute to discussions, and is prepared to do so intelligently. I have an interest in the Masters of Finance program specifically because I see my career as a future CFO. I have all of the tools to succeed at the highest level, in my personality, my work ethic, my ability to work with others, in my confidence and in my aptitude.
What I need to take my career to this level is the advanced training that the Master of Finance program will give me. The school's reputation is excellent, and the faculty are exceptional, which is why I chose this school over all others. It is not just important that I get a degree -- I want the right one, and that is why I'm applying to you. This is the program that best serves my needs.
I am not seeking a degree for the sake of seeking a degree -- it is the Masters of Finance I want, because that is what will allow me to achieve my career objectives. I see my path to becoming a CFO as going through corporate finance and investments. In many industries, managing the portfolio is a critical component of firm success. Risk management is something that the CFO contributes to the organization as well.
It is only through a Masters in Finance that I will be able to gain the knowledge I need to open the doors to positions in either portfolio or risk management. From that point, I will be able to build my career through successive positions until I am structuring deals in corporate finance, and insulating firms against economic downturn. You do not want just any old student in this program. I know that you want the best. Hard work on its own is not enough. Math skills are not enough.
The student you are looking for is the total package, and that is what I bring. I have the ability, the experience and the desire to make the program better. I will help my classmates, because I know that these are people who will become the backbone of my network for decades to come. I understand that value of having a school like your on my CV, and I will wear that badge with honor, representing the school well and making the contributions expected of a successful alumnus.
At this point in my career, there are few options that will give me what I need. Of those, the one that fits the best is the Masters of Finance program. It has the right combination of skills for me, and I have the right experience for it. Other programs simply are not good enough, and they don't fit with my career objectives in the same way. I am applying to.
