Hello,
I agree with nearly all of your discussion posts points. For one financial enticement can heavily incentivize behavior from an employee base. Research has shown however, that financial incentives only work up to a certain threshold. After a certain amount, other elements tend to heavily influence employee behavior and motivation. As you expressed in your discussion posts, these behaviors include clear goals, a very strong corporate culture, and motivational leadership. As you noted, each of these elements can coalesce to improve overall employee performance and morale. I also enjoyed reading your explanation of how corporate culture can ultimately help determine overall strategic behavior. It is this culture that ultimately inspires other employees to perform better and more efficiently. This improvement is due to the fact that employees are inspired by the strategic direction and believe it will do good for others (Griffin, 2020).
Peer Discussion 4
Hello,
I agree with many of the point you made in your discussion post. Namely, your points related to managers and their ability to properly motivate employees. This is a very large catalyst as many business outcomes are heavily determined by the management team and their corresponding leadership ability. I also agree with your assessment related to intrinsic rewards. These rewards often transcend monetary rewards which are often fleeting. Intrinsic rewards related to a sense of accomplishment or society improvement go a long way towards motivating employees to improve. These intrinsic rewards also serve a much more powerful purpose of reinforcing company culture. Finally, the impact of goal setting and interpersonal development also helps to alleviate many of the negative elements within a company such as excessive bureaucracy, misalignment of incentives, or bad company culture (Griffin, 2020).
