¶ … property appraiser as this sphere is developing rapidly currently and majority of corporations allocate a big part of their resources into property which is considered as less risky than some other assets. There are several international professional organizations aiming to facilitate and perfect the work of the people in this profession. To succeed in this, each professional organization just as any other organizations, has its' mission, strategy and goals within the strategy.

RICS, or Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors is one of the oldest professional organization for all the people dealing with land, property and construction. The strategy of this organization until 2010 covers "immediate recognition, trust and confidence, regulation and consumer protection, promoting the public interest, competence, property-related information and knowledge, good careers, development worldwide, governance, membership structures and relations, resources management, funding." The organization objectives, or goals within the strategy are company programs which include the following.

The organization aims to increase the business of its' members by marketing and promoting the services they can offer, by developing contacts with the local policy makers, organizing public events to promote awareness of the organization and professionals, establish long-term partnerships with relevant educational institutes and others. Though the organization has written statement of its' mission and strategy available at public domain, the goals of the company do not meet the main goal setting criteria: they are not rather vague, not precise in the time frame necessary to achieve them, not quantifiable, there is no quality benchmark statement which will allow later on for the members to estimate how well the goals were achieved. Thus, the goals are rather poor which can in the medium to long-term lead to dissatisfaction of the members as they will not see reasoning to join this organization, which is quite costly and time consuming.
