Safety Grounding System well checked grounding system is a very important factor for safety in any environment where supply of electricity is present. A safe grounding system that is implemented on electrical outlets allows an efficient redirection of power surges. Otherwise, surge protectors may fail to properly function and this can be a risk to danger such as electric shocks and fire. Grounding system also ensures that the proper amount of electricity is supplied to equipments that require electricity. Grounding electricity outlet is usually done with water pipe or ground rod. However, water pipe is not any more recommended because of its vulnerability to breakage. Other components of a safe grounding system are grounding conductor and grounding connector.

Installing a quality grounding system is sometimes overlooked be some people because of the cost that they need to spend. Hence, some resort to grounding systems that do not provide guarantee to safety. In the long run, spending for the installation of an efficient and quality grounding system is worthwhile because it prevents danger as well as the need for frequent repairs.

Grounding electrical equipments is another form of safe grounding system wherein electric voltage is limited by connecting the electric conductors to the earth. This method prevents the presence of electricity on external parts of electrical equipments that are conductive. Frederic Hartwell, in his article Don't Be Neutral About Grounding, explains this by stating that Any electrical power system, grounded or ungrounded, requires a continuous equipment grounding system connected to earth through a grounding electrode conductor (typically connected at the system source or disconnect). In grounded systems, you always connect equipment-grounding conductors to the system grounded conductor to provide a low impedance path for fault current. This allows the operation of overcurrent devices under ground-fault conditions.

When implementing a grounding system, there are important rules that must be followed to ensure that the system is efficient and safe. Extracted from Gregory Hayward's grounding system tips, the following procedures must be considered vital.

Bonding.

All ground points must be bonded together.

Physical Connections.

Use the recommended features of grounding components such as size and connection of ground wires.
