Peer Discussion 1
My colleague indicates that there are many skills to be gathered from the performance of a case analysis. Some of the skills, as he further observes, that would come in handy in the preparation of recommendations for consideration in a strategic plan are inclusive of, but they are not limited to; knowledge application and analysis, data literacy, as well as business ethics and social responsibility. I also feel that in doing a case analysis, one would gather crucial business performance analysis techniques which could be deployed in efforts to better assess the strategic goals of an organization and whether the courses of action suggested to achieve those goals are ideal. My colleague also clearly defines a business model. However, although he fails to clearly indicate how exactly it could disrupt both a company and an industry, he comes up with great examples of disruption in both instances.
Peer Discussion 2
My colleague is categorical that case analysis comes in handy in efforts to clear things up in uncertain scenarios. Towards this end, he indicates that it would be instrumental in the development of skills needed to better understand organizational operations. It should also be pointed out that this understanding would be instrumental in not only the formulation, but also the implementation of business-level strategies that further enhance a business chances of survival and even greater success. This is more so the case given that strategic planning, to a large extent, involves the exploitation as well as creation of new and different opportunities for tomorrow (XXXX,). A business model has also been clearly defined by my colleague. I particularly identified with my colleagues explanation about how a business model could result in industry disruption. This is particularly the case given that as my colleague points out, the embrace of innovation could be one of the routes through which an industry is disrupted. In addition to the companies highlighted by my colleague, other key examples of industry disrupters (via an innovative business model) are inclusive of Tesla and Netflix.
