The law recognizes the right of a competent adult to make an advance directive instructing his or her physician to provide, withhold, or withdraw life-prolonging procedures. In Terri's case there was a feud between Terri's husband and her parents in that there was not a clear cut answer, as to what she wanted or would have wanted. They both had conflicting views, which ended up in a feuding battle. In conclusion, my view on the case is that I believe since there was no clear cut decision as to what Terri wanted, she should have been able to live. It is a moral, ethical, political, and legal decision that was a battle for many, but especially for Terri. God rest her soul.
