¶ … upsetting to all of the people in the world that consider themselves neat. The title is very clear in its meaning and the introduction is very bold. It does not trivialize any of the issues that are about to be discussed and makes a very clear cut remark as to how the author feels about those who are neat and those who are sloppy. The topic sentence accuses neat people of being mean and lazy and discusses sloppy people as not actually being sloppy. Supporting statements for this have much to do with the way that sloppy people are always planning to organize their lives. Because they are always planning ways to do this and it is such an involved task, it never gets done. However, the author thinks that this is not because these people are lazy but simply because they do not have the time to organize their lives the way they would like them to be. The organization that they have in mind is so perfect that it can never be achieved and therefore it is never started. The article transitions from the perfection of sloppy people to the cruelty of neat people.

The author also accuses neat people of throwing everything away and this is the reason for their neatness. It does not matter if it is a letter from a relative letter or a toy that has been left somewhere by a child, the person who is neat will throw this away. The article concludes with this type of accusation and goes so far as to state that many neat people might actually consider sending their children away to a boarding school so that the floors do not get dirty. The tone and voice of this article are almost harsh but it seems that it is also possible that the author is only being sarcastic and does not actually feel this way about all people who are neat or all who are sloppy. However, the way that it is approached and the style that is used make it seem that the author is making a very strong case for those who are sloppy and how they are actually the better people where morals are concerned.

walked through the empty alleyway from the train station, my heart pounded. I could feel someone's eyes on me. I heard a rustling. Through the dim morning light I could see a man about twenty feet away. He was huddled by the big green dumpster with a bottle in his hand. As I approached, I unconsciously walked more quickly. He held out his dirt-covered hand and asked for money.

Personal Action Plan: Observing People in a Different Socioeconomic Class I am a member of the lower middle socioeconomic class, and for the purposes of this assignment I chose to observe people from a wealthier part of town. Initially, I chose to observe people at a country club. I was unable to fully complete that assignment, and will detail why in the paper because I think it helps highlight some of

nurture and nature dichotomy, people are born with certain traits and tendencies. However, the incidents and people in their lives will also significantly impact the directions they choose in life. Such was the case with Anne Moody. She may not have realized it then, but even early in her life Moody's path was chosen: she would do whatever it took to help end the degradation of blacks, especially in

Untouchables "People are going to drink!" Brian De Palma's 1987 film The Untouchables is a classic portrayal of one of America's most notorious gangsters and the elite team of law enforcement that was poised on taking him down. Set in the 1930s, the film is accurate in many of its depictions and thematic structures, yet is plagued with some historical inaccuracies that decrease the credibility of the plot. However, the basic

These persons do experience a very high level of anxiety coupled with low avoidance. Therefore they get preoccupied and do feel on a constant basis, a sense of unlovabililty along with that of unworthiness that is combined with an affirmative evaluation of others. The preoccupied style is usually formed whenever a primary care giver is inconsistent in their manner of parenting. This is marked with being loving while being

Assertiveness Many people believe the word "assertive" is a synonym for "aggressive" and that is not the case. Assertiveness also has been misunderstood to mean something like pushiness, or even bullying. The actual meaning of assertiveness relates to a person taking into account one's own personal rights and the rights of others. "Appropriate assertiveness" is an important skill, according to the book Understanding Human Behavior and the Social Environment (Zastrow, et
