Despite its name, JavaScript is not directly related to the programming language Java (Zeichick, 2008) and is actually a scripting language used to orchestrate the layout and functions of Internet web pages. The basic programming functionality of JavaScript is based on C. programming conventions and syntax and has evolved to increase the efficiency of Web page design and presentation of both graphical results and also Web-based applications. A natural progression of JavaScript is the development of the AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) scripting language (Serrano, Aroztegi, 2007). AJAX has become the programming standard for complex Internet-based applications as it allows for only those aspects of any given Web page or its applications that have changed between iterations of a page view or cycle of a given application based on this standard to be shown.

Explain the JavaScript Programming Language

The basis of the JavaScript Programming language is its ability to link from one Web-based application to another, relying on XML as the communications protocol and low-level programming routines to manage the creation and refresh of Web pages. JavaScript was specifically created with a syntax comparable to the C. programming language to support its extensibility and to also reduce the time required to learn it (Gamage, Dong, 2006). Despite sharing the same name with Java, JavaScript is significantly easier to learn and functions and is entirely object-based it is procedural calls and structures. JavaScript also supports expressions and statements, as do the legacy programming languages it is based on. In addition, JavaScript is entirely dependent on a run-time environment which was first designed and launched by Netscape in their browsers, and then propagated across all other browsers, including Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Microsoft has branded their version of JavaScript by the title Jscript and relied on the same types of syntax as the original JavaScript version, including intensive use of HTM tagging and XML integration functions as well.

How will JavaScript Technology change my life

The best benefit of all of learning JavaScript, its syntax, integration with XML and AJAX is the how marketable this skill is today. Being able to define which rich client is best for a given need is an essential skill going forward in any programming or technical career (Zeichick, 2008). JavaScript will hopefully give me an opportunity to earn more money over time.

What are the Similarities between Java vs. JavaScript

Both Java and JavaScript allow programmers to create Web content with a high degree of freedom and ability to tailor the integration of third party applications online. Both also support XML integration that is a core technological element of AJAX (Serrano, Aroztegi, 2007). Both also support programming syntax that are entirely object-oriented, and both have been written to support CGI functionality and both have security features built in.
