Allergies, Parasites and the Hygiene Hypothesis
The objective of this study is to explain the relationship between allergies emergence due to parasites based on the hygiene hypothesis and the current information stating how valid this hypothesis is. Towards this end, this study will conduct a brief but intensive review of literature in this area of inquiry. The work of Liu and Leung (2006) report that the hygiene hypothesis has a long history. Categories of allergy and asthma are stated to include specific categories as follows: (1) infections; (2) microbial components; (3) gastrointestinal colonization; (4) soil microbiota; and (5) forces that reduce microbial burden. (Liu and Leung, 2006, p.1063) Stated as fundamental to the hypothesis is "that the microbial exposure of interest can potentially cause both healthful and harmful outcomes." (Ibid, 2006, p.1063) Reported is that this dual way of viewing this is in defiance of the "simplistic tendency to view the….

Some of these foods with the antigen include wheat, soy, peanuts, and fish among others. A six-food elimination diet of these foods has resulted in histological and clinical remission for afflicted kids, with a 2011 research survey showing remission for eighty five percent of the children studied. Use of corticosteroids is an alternative to managing of Eosinophilic Esophagitis symptoms but, these drugs do not cure the disease, they only mitigate the severity of the symptoms. These symptoms can re-occur if the patient ceases taking these drugs (Gordon 36-40). To come up with better treatment for Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Food Allergy Centre is doing a study by comparing different approaches of therapy which includes eight-food and six-food elimination diets, corticosteroid therapies and elemental diets. These approaches apply to various patients, and these researchers assess the response of these patients to various therapies (Gordon 36-40).

aromatherapy and allergies and the various nursing aspects and implications on the uses of aromatherapy as a treatment for allergies.
Aromatherapy is defined as the art of using essential oils taken from leaves, bark, roots, and flowers, to enhance moods, sharpen minds, awaken the individual's physical sense of being, and most important of all treat various allergies. y simply breathing in the fragrances present in the essential oils derived from these sources, an individual has a soothing effect on his or her soul, and arouses the sensual self. For thousands of years, man has used these essential oils of plants and flowers to improve both his physical as well as the emotional well being.

Though the effectiveness, strengths and the healing powers of the essential oils derived from various herbs, plants and flowers have proven in a number of ailments and allergies, their importance in aromatherapy has only recently been acknowledged….

Pet Food and Pet Sensitivities:
As a reflection of the trend among humans that is approximated at 45% of the population, an estimated 10% of pets suffer from food intolerances. However, unlike popular belief, food intolerance is usually linked with the food that is commonly eaten. In most cases, pets tend to be allergic to beef and wheat as well as other common allergens like milk, soya, pork, maize, fish, and chicken. Food sensitivities can be described as the term that is used to broadly explain the different physiological reactions with certain foods or compound with a series of foods. On the other hand, food allergies are sensitivities originating from the reaction of a body's immune system to certain proteins in a food. Generally, an actual food allergy causes a response from the immune system that has significant negative impacts on various organs in the body.

For pet-owners, identifying dietary intolerance in….

Uncontrolled Asthma and Allergies; Application of Nursing Theories
Asthma is often referred to as altered immune response, which results in inflammatory conditions that constricts the small airways leading to increased mucous production and bronchospasm. When experiencing asthmatic attacks, I often have difficulty in breathing, shivering, loss of energy and loss of appetite. My central concern has always been how to ensure I am not only able to take care of myself but also any other younger member of the family in managing the asthmatic condition and prevent possible attacks.

The theories that have been relevant in managing and living through the asthma and allergies that I have are as follows; most significant is the Bandura theory of self-efficacy. This is the emphasis that points towards the individual's behavior and skills in line with managing the condition he suffers from. Through this theory, I have focused on the behaviors that help in….

Patient Cathy
Further questions I would have for Cathy during this visit are the following: Are you coughing phlegm (greenish in color)? Do you have a fever or feel ill or have a headache? Have you taken any long flights recently? Have you been feeling anxious about anything lately? Have you had any stiffness in your neck? Have you experienced a loss of appetite? Felt confused? Have you suffered from any seizures? Can you touch your chin to your chest? Do you drink alcohol? Do your ears feel full?

Because the patient has been using her inhaler when exercising, it is not likely that she would feel any pain in her chest because this is meant to prevent it; however, other signs are evident that she may have an infection and it is important to examine her body systems more closely.

The differential diagnosis list for this visit thus far would be that….

Discussion: Assessing the Ears, Nose, and Throat
As Motomura et al. (2016) point out, “pale nasal mucosa is a typical clinical finding in subjects with severe allergic rhinitis” (p. 220). In the case of Richard, the 50 year old male who has presented with nasal congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea, and postnasal drainage—in other words, an itchy nose, eyes, palate and ears which have bothered him for 5 days—the symptoms that Richard is exhibiting are very likely the effect of severe allergic rhinitis or what is commonly known as hay fever.
As hay fever routinely occurs in the summer and spring months when pollen and mold are in the air and can be highly concentrated in areas depending on geography and weather, it is important to take note of external factors—the environment—that might be impacting Richard over the past week. A history of his outdoor activities, where he lives, whether he has been exposed….

Still another option is immunotherapy. In 2000, the Immunotherapy Committee of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology compared the costs of medication and the single-injection allergen immunotherapy for allergic rhinitis. It found that the cost of medications is much greater. Allergen immunotherapy is generally safe and adverse reactions to are rare (Huggins 2004).

Opinion. - Human civilizations have tried to master nature and even modify it to a point where the body system reacts to certain substances it finds harmful to health. The reaction is an allergy. Human knowledge now has tried to look for ways to counteract the body's natural reaction to offenders or violators of its immune response. While the motivation to combat allergy in humans is always in favor of general well-being and health, a change in lifestyle and behavior may prove the easier way to health by agreeing with the body's way of sustaining itself….

Forethought is necessary as is the ability to educate those around you and in some cases such precaution may lead to limitations on the child's activities, especially in cases where those who are ignorant of the seriousness of the issue discount and do not respond to offered education. Another mom who is managing a child with a peanut allergy stresses the two hardest things about having a child with this condition:
hat has been the hardest part about dealing with your child's peanut allergy for you? / Two things. First: Trust. Trusting that whoever is watching your child (be it at daycare or school or babysitting) REALLY understands the ramifications of her allergy. It doesn't matter if it's family or not, it's hard to trust another person with your child's care when they have a special need like this. I'm not worried about my daughter eating peanuts or peanut butter….

correctly identify opportunities and threats to the products of soap and laundry detergent. Specifically, three marketing environment forces will be identified that impact this type of products. These include environmental quality factors such as sewage treatment and other environmental pollution issues in the detergent manufacturing plants, allergies to chemicals or other ingredients in the products themselves and product changes dictated by various changes in washing machines. In the essay, the author will also describe each force and analyze why and how it will impact the soap and detergent industry.
One of the primary issues that the soap and laundry detergent is the issue of pollution in the manufacture of the product. hether from a desire to avoid running afoul of government fines and regulation, to avoid litigation from issues related to pollution or to avoid bad public relations or "ecotage" (actual sabotage by environmental radicals) this issue is probably the….

Government Created a Committee
An electronic health record is a digital record of a patient's health information generated from every medical visit a patient makes. This information includes the patient's medical history, demographics, known drug allergies, progress notes, follow up visits, medications, vital signs, immunizations, laboratory data and radiological reports. The EH automates and streamlines a clinician's workflow. (Himss, 2009)

Due to the multiple advantages of an EH, health care agencies have been aiming to push up this technology. In 2004, the FDA approved of an implantable EH microchip into patients. Each microchip has a specific code which is identified through sensors. The device is implanted under the skin, in the back of the arm, requiring a twenty minute procedure, without needing the use of sutures. ("Fda approves computer," 2004)

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, deaths due to preventable medical errors rank as the fifth most common cause of….

Therefore, it is very crucial for all the nurses examining the athletes to carefully differentiate the murmurs of the behaviors of athletes and recommend if it is safe for them to continue sports behaviour.
Discussion 2: Anaphylactic Shock

Anaphylaxis shock is a very dangerous and life threatening allergy reaction that needs right, quick and aggressive treatment on time. Due to lack of recognition, the exact evidence of this condition is difficult to know. There are also no laboratory markers or any particular tests that can be used in the emergency to diagnose this situation.

According to the Canadian Pediatric Surveillance Program it is "a severe allergic reaction to any stimulus, having sudden onset and generally lasting less than 24 hours, involving one or more body systems and producing one or more symptoms such as hives, flushing, itching, angioedema, stridor, wheezing, shortness of breath, vomiting, diarrhea or shock" (Simons, Chad and Gold, 2002,….
