What makes this category academically interesting is the tension it creates: casual does not mean careless, and instructors use these assignments to test whether students can construct coherent ideas about behavior, family, nature, and human development while maintaining a conversational register that still demonstrates critical thinking.

The papers gathered here reflect a wide range of approaches united by their relatively informal framing.
