What is Comparison Essays (Examples)?

A comparison essay is an essay that looks at two or more different things and then draws comparisons between the two of them.  A comparison essay may include comparison and contrast elements or may focus strictly on comparing similar elements.  However, it must, by definition, contain at least two distinct things to be compared.

In the introduction of your comparison essay, you want to interview the things that you want to compare.  The easiest way to do so is with a blanket statement suggesting that the two things are similar.  You can do this by saying that they both fall into the same category or share the same characteristics.  Then, the introduction is a great place to provide an outline of the rest of your comparison essay, previewing how you will demonstrate the two things are similar.  This is particularly important if the two items do not have any obvious similarities.

The body of your comparison essay is going to focus on further development of the similarities between the items that you are comparing.  If you provided a blueprint of how you were going to show their similarities in your outline, then you want to follow that blueprint in your body paragraph.  For each point of similarity that you make, you want to make sure that you are showing how all of your items have the same qualities.  Furthermore, unless you are specifically writing a comparison/contrast essay, you want to avoid writing about contrast in the body of your essay.  Instead, focus only on how the items are similar.

As with most academic essays, in the conclusion of your comparison essay you want to provide a mirror of the introduction of that essay.  Reiterate that the items are similar and the reasons you gave to support that assertion.  If their similarities have additional relevance, mention it in the conclusion section.

Oral Candidiasis Is Primarily Caused by Candida
Candidiasis is most commonly cause by the presence of Candida albicans. This is usually treated with antifungal drugs, but resistance to antifungals is becoming increasingly common. A study by Calamari et al. (2011) explored the antifungal properties of chlorhexidine, fluconazole, and chitosan in their effectiveness to decrease infection by Candida albicans as it was assessed through the observation of various virulence factors.

68 GA Dota TOC Radiopharmaceutical
Imaging with a radionucleotide requires a high degree of specificity for the target molecule at the receptor site or non-targeted tissue will exhibit uptake. The synthetic somatostatin analogue and chelating agent complexed to short peptide, DOTA-TOC [N-(4,7,10-(tris(carboxymethyl)-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecan-1-yl)acetyl-D-Phe-c[Cys-D-Tyr-Trp-Lys- Thr-Cys]-Thr(ol))] has been developed as a molecule that both targets the overexpressed receptors and allows rapid and strong chelation to the radio nucleotide 68Ga. DOTA or 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid is a cyclic polydentate chelating ligand with four secondary amine groups and four acetic acid pendants. The molecule can be linked to phenylalanine-tyrosine and then a short peptide where it behaves as a strong somatostatin analogue showing preferential binding to somatostatin receptors. The resulting molecule has a strong binding site for several transition metals including Gallium (Ga3+). The radionucleotide, 68Ga, has been shown to act as a high contrast agent in positron emission tomography (PET) scans while allowing formation with a conventional nuclear formation rather than more expensive cyclotron formatio

Hypothermia Treatment Using Radiant Heat Hypothermia Critique
Postoperative hypothermia represents a significant threat to patient health. Surgical wounds may become infected, drugs may not function as expected, and bleeding problems may develop. Hypothermia can therefore increase the length of hospital stays and hospitalization costs. A recent study compared the relative effectiveness of pre-warmed hospital blankets with radiant heat for warming postoperative patients in a PACU setting. This study was critiqued in terms of study design, methodological approach, internal and external validity, and the relevance of the conclusions.

Fictional case study analysis and applications
The case study provides an example for assessment of an organization's culture, leadership style, and operations. The recommendations of assessment are implemented through a change management plan. The change management plan presented below is based on the theoretic framework of transformational leadership theory. The model provides a reliable source for inspirational role of leadership and managing the organization through reliable techniques (Cameron, & Green, 2012).The case study provides an example for assessment of an organization's culture, leadership style, and operations.
