What is Comparison Essays (Examples)?

A comparison essay is an essay that looks at two or more different things and then draws comparisons between the two of them.  A comparison essay may include comparison and contrast elements or may focus strictly on comparing similar elements.  However, it must, by definition, contain at least two distinct things to be compared.

In the introduction of your comparison essay, you want to interview the things that you want to compare.  The easiest way to do so is with a blanket statement suggesting that the two things are similar.  You can do this by saying that they both fall into the same category or share the same characteristics.  Then, the introduction is a great place to provide an outline of the rest of your comparison essay, previewing how you will demonstrate the two things are similar.  This is particularly important if the two items do not have any obvious similarities.

The body of your comparison essay is going to focus on further development of the similarities between the items that you are comparing.  If you provided a blueprint of how you were going to show their similarities in your outline, then you want to follow that blueprint in your body paragraph.  For each point of similarity that you make, you want to make sure that you are showing how all of your items have the same qualities.  Furthermore, unless you are specifically writing a comparison/contrast essay, you want to avoid writing about contrast in the body of your essay.  Instead, focus only on how the items are similar.

As with most academic essays, in the conclusion of your comparison essay you want to provide a mirror of the introduction of that essay.  Reiterate that the items are similar and the reasons you gave to support that assertion.  If their similarities have additional relevance, mention it in the conclusion section.

Functionalist Theory: Critical Analysis a Very Basic
Functionalist Theory: Critical Analysis Functionalist Theory arose in the 19th Century and continued into the 21st Century with modifications along the way. Largely attributed to John Dewey, who noted four developmental stages coordinated with the four levels of education, the Theory was later developed by Talcott Parsons, who believed that education maintains a society's equilibrium and order, then by Robert K. Merton, who approached the Theory on more manageable and testable levels. Through the establishment and refinement of Functionalist Theory, the multi-disciplinary approaches of philosophers, psychologists, sociologists and educators have greatly enhanced the understanding and effectiveness of Education in society.

Similarly, sustainability construction should be maintained by noting the long-term impacts it has to the global economy, culture, environment and technological advancements.

Dam failure and catastrophic flooding impacts
Analytical tools and techniques used in approximating dam breakages are usually evaluted and comparison made in orders to ascertain there effectiveness. During dam construction, it is necessary to evaluate the potentiality of dam failure modes, breach the necessary paramenters related to failuere modes , and define routing and the map of the consequent discharge hydrograph. This paper outlines how mapping of propable inudation emanating form the dam failures needs numerous elements i.e. likely dam failures, break parameters, hydrologic scenario that are connected to failure models, including routing and mapping of the consequent discharge hydrograph. The unsteadily flowing routing models i.e HEC-RAS are oftenly applied in computation and rfelction of the dam's downstream consequences emaneting from dam failures. Approximation of the break elements i.e. time of development and width is carried out externally to the model in use

Neo-Confucianism Is a Philosophy Which Was Born TEST1
Ronald Reagan's statement that, "I believe that government exists to protect us from each other not to protect us from ourselves." is still echoed in the Republican Party today. It is the same mentality that Mitt Romney employs—that people must be responsible for themselves and that the government is not there to pick up the slack for people who don't take care of themselves and prepare for their future. The most fundamental flaw in this thinking is that it assumes that everyone starts from an even playing field—or else, one is forced to conclude, that the GOP really doesn't care that fundamental inequalities exist which will prevent large swaths of American people from ever being able to "take care of themselves" and look out for their future.
