Delphi 1 was first released in 1995. The product extended Borland's Pascal language, with its object-oriented and form-based approach. It was an extremely fast native code compiler, with visual two-way tools and database support. Delphi had close integration with indows and component technology. The next year, Delphi 2 was released as the world's fastest optimizing 32-bit native-code compiler. It was described as having "the ease of VB, with the power of C++" ("Delphi History"). Development on Delphi continued at a breakneck speed.
Delphi 3 was introduced in 1997, with a variety of new features and enhancements. Code insight technology, component templates, DLL debuggiing, the ebBroker technology, the DecisionCube and TeeChart components, ActiveForms, and integration with COM via interfaces were all new improvements. Delphi 4 was released the next year and included anchoring, docking, and constraining components. New features for Delphi 4 included: dynamic arrays, AppBrowser, indows 98 support, method overloading,…

Sacred Site
The Oracle of Delphi continues to fascinate visitors thousands of years after the last prophesy was delivered there. Known as the "most important shrine" in all Greece, poets, politicians, and philosophers alike visited or took part in ceremonies at Delphi ("The Oracle at Delphi" n.d.). The exact origin of the site and its oracle is unknown. It was used in the Mycenaean period as a sanctuary to worship a female deity prior to being used as the Hellenic seat of the oracle and temple to Apollo (UNESCO, 2014). Delphi became a major point of pilgrimage, as an annual festival called the Pythian Games (named after the oracle herself) was held there.
However, the oracle's power was at its peak in 1600 BCE (Nevins, n.d.). Although Delphi is the geographical location, the most important element of the site for ancient Greeks was the prophet herself: the Oracle at Delphi.…

Ancient history [...] Oracle of Delphi in Ancient Greece, including the important aspects of the cultural experience that took place at Delphi. Delphi was one of the most significant oracles in Ancient Greece. The Greeks submitted their most vital state constitutions to the oracle for approval, and the Delphian god answered the most sacred and important questions of the day, as well (Burkert 116). Culturally, the Oracle at Delphi was a significant part of the everyday lives and society of the people, who based their government, battles, and significant decisions on the Oracle's prophesies. In addition, Apollo, the most important Greek god, ruled over the Oracle at Delphi, and was "present" during consultations when the oracle spoke. Thus, the Oracle at Delphi was one of the most significant oracles in Greece, and had incredible influence over the people's lives. The cultural experience at Delphi encompassed many aspect of Greek life,…

verdant hills of Delphi were a perfect place to perform rituals and ceremonies in honor of the gods. Olive groves, cypress trees, flowing waters, and distant mountains added to the magnificent aura of that sacred ground. While the origins of Apollonian festivals at Delphi are obscured by time, it is certain that Apollo was the presiding deity at this ancient site. By the eighth century BC, Apollo reigned over the hills of Mount Parnassus; his cult was in full force. Homer mentioned Apollo in his Iliad, and the myths surrounding him are plentiful. Apollo was honored in his many aspects as Delphi through religious rites and festivals, as well as through the Oracle of Delphi, who channeled the god's wisdom in order to advise peasants and politicians alike. Apollo was the presiding god over Delphi three seasons of the year, and only in the winter did Dionysian rites replace those…
As, the Delphi methodology will help us to determine the various opinions of the experts. While qualitative research will organize these views and allow us to study different aspects of the problem. This is the point that we will be taking a more balanced approach in dealing with these issues. (What is Qualitative Research 2010)
Purpose/Perceived Value
The purpose of this study will help us to understand specific factors. That are affecting why so many businesses, are opposed to implementation of IFRS standards. Once this takes place, we will then look at possible solutions for addressing these issues and what steps can be taken to increase compliance. These elements are important, because the combination of them will help us to understand all aspects of the problem. This is the point that we will have a full comprehension of the issues and the challenges associated with implementing any kind of changes.…

Probability Concepts & Applications
(1) Describe the rationale for utilizing probability concepts. Is there more than one type of probability? If so, describe the different types of probability.
One uses probability mathematics in order to assess the probability of a particular occurrence or the results of a particular action; For instance, whether or not one should go into a certain market or invest in a certain product -- what are the chances or possibilities of the product succeeding.
There are five major approaches of assigning probability: Classical Approach, elative Frequency Approach, Subjective Approach, Anchoring, and the Delphi Technique
Classical Approach -- this is used when each of the possibilities have an equally likely chance of occurring. The theorem is: P (X) = Number of favorable outcomes / Total number of possible outcomes
elative Frequency Approach -- calculation is based on past historical / experimental experience. Theorem: P (X) = Number…

The exponential growth of the Internet has also served as the catalyst for the growth of highly collaborative, interactive forums and platforms on which Delphi-like brainstorming can be accomplished (Decker, Wagner, Scholz, 2005). Conversely many of the external relationships companies have and that are essential to understanding how the strategic planning process will impact an organization lend themselves to quantification. An example of this level of quantification of external factors is the use of frameworks for evaluating the performance of supply chains over time, a process area that can be highly quantified through the use of maturity models and measurements of performance over time (Gilmour, 1999). Both of these extremes, qualitative data analysis through the use of techniques including writing of scenarios, brainstorming and the Delphi technique to the extremely quantitative, both require organizations to have a fairly high level of interprocess maturity and development to be able to manage…

integrate evaluation techniques in your daily work routine to improve your job performance? (Answer taken from PDF uploaded - Program_Evaluation_-_Overview_and_Definitions_PowerPoint)
Gredler explains that evaluation is the structural accumulation of any and knowledge that helps to make informed and profitable choices and corporate decisions M.B. Dignan further adds that all basic evaluations are procedural assessments of the results and overall functionality of any and all programs. P.D. Sarvela and a colleague R.J. Mcdermott gave a more detailed explanation in 'Health Education Evaluation and Measurement' by saying that basic evaluation was the utilization of a number of processes that were used to understand and decipher if a program had been functionalized in accordance to the aim with which it was created. Hence, basic assessment of a program is to highlight whether or not the program was able to practically attain the objectives it had originally theoretically set. Research procedures on the other…
Purpose/Perceived Value
The findings of this report will be valuable to two different audiences. The first consists of accounting regulatory bodies. These bodies are working towards convergence and are presently struggling with the resistance from the business community. Understanding the nature of that resistance is key to finding ways of overcoming it. For the large publicly traded corporations themselves, this report will help them understand why they and their peers are resistant, and this will shed light on whether or not that resistance is justified. Convergence is coming whether the corporate world is ready for it or not, but the key for corporations is to understand what convergence is, why it is important, and which elements of their resistance are not worth the effort. For both parties, it is important to work together to make the convergence process as smooth as possible, and that is going to take a greater…

" In these types of organizations where only a few large customers are served, predicting sales based on first-hand knowledge of the customers can be an effective forecasting method.
A survey of customers involves asking customers about their future intentions. One of the benefits of this method is that it allows for an overview of all customers, rather than focusing on several select customers. The second benefit is that it gains information by going directly to the buyer. This method is best used in markets where consumer behavior and consumer perceptions drive the market (Neal, Quester, & Hawkins 1999, p. 1.5). This includes the fashion industry, the entertainment industry, as well as many service industries.
The historical analogy method is based on recognizing that similar products will often follow similar growth patterns. This method is used to predict the future sales of new products. This method is best used in…

A study published in 2007 suggested that "The ASCA National Model can help school counselors think proactively about how they can best serve the students in their schools, and it contains ideas and tools for developing comprehensive school counseling programs that use the current best practices in the field" (Dimmit, Carey, 2007, p. 227).This study will attempt to discern whether those standards have been met. If they have not, then perhaps modifications can be made. If they have then the study will have at least verified that the program was successful.
The perception in the 1980's as compared to the 1960's could be said that there were plenty of individuals during that particular time that felt that counselors had little, if anything to do with solving school education problems. Comparing this laisse faire attitude towards counselors then, with the far more intense attitude currently shown towards education in general, and…

This qualitative research uses a Delphi study to explore the perceptions of special education teachers regarding retention. This Delphi study includes twenty-five to thirty special education teachers of K-12 in two California districts of less than 40,000 students. The information gathered provides leaders in the field with successful practices in retaining special education teachers.
Purpose of the study
The primary purpose of this study is to explore the perceptions of special education teachers regarding the factors that influence their decisions to stay with a specific job placement or school community and develop recommendations for increasing teacher retention by developing more supportive school policies and practices. The study will employ the Delphi method to systematically survey special education teachers and develop an informed opinion about teacher retention by reviewing and distilling teacher input through several rounds of review. This survey of special education professionals can provide policymakers at all levels with…

Instead, to distinguish GM from both foreign and domestic competitors, "we are certainly in the process of creating a family of diesels which could be used in a light-duty application - i.e., 1500 Tahoes, Yukons and Escalades. And we very much believe in the diesel as one of the solutions to fuel economy issues. And we know that with a diesel we could get these vehicles to maybe 25, yes 25, miles per gallon, and with plenty of horsepower and torque." ("The Solstice's Proud Daddy: Interview ith Bob Lutz of G.M." 2005) But diesel should be only one prong of a solution to create newly innovative cars to meet environmental challenges and changing consumer desires, and these vehicles and sports cars like the Solstice do not address the desires of the core, middle-class consumer of fuel, which further research must explore, via GM's marketing and…

There are also ethical issues pertaining to the observational method that will be discussed later in this paper.
Experience surveys are widely used throughout qualitative research studies, due to their focus on bringing greater insights into the study through the interviewing of experts in chosen fields. There is also a strong focus on how to gain insights of experts in the future definition of the methodology being created, and how the research objectives can be more effectively accomplished as well. Experience surveys also are often used in the first stages of a research project. Another qualitative research technique, the case study, takes the concept of gaining insight and applies it to an organization and its dynamics. A case study seeks to define and complete a thorough analysis of one or more specific circumstances within institution of interest. The goal of case studies is to measure the relationships, inter-dependencies and cause-and-effect…

The Delphi Method also can provide an entirely new perspective on the goals of the research and put the areas of primary focus into a context that would take years of study to attain. The expert panels recruited for this type of research can also define emerging trends no one has written about or discussed in the fields of interest. Due to all of these factors, the Delphi Method is considered one of the most effective in qualitative research. Studies completed using this technique have led to the development of entirely new business models at General Electric for example (Daud, Ismail, Omar, 2010).
An example of quantitative research is the use of online surveys to measure customer satisfaction with a new car. .L. Polk or J.D. Power & Associates, two of the most well-known companies in the area of auto satisfaction, often do this type of survey. This data is…

Estimating Task Duration
Describe the various methods for estimating task duration and discuss how these methods improve the accuracy of task duration estimates, taking into account the variation that is present in task duration. Provide practical examples to help illustrate the differences between the methods.
There are basically six methods of estimating task duration which are: similarity to other activities, historical data, expert advice, Delphi technique, Three-point technique, and ide-band Delphi technique (Franchina, 2010). The similarity to other activities is pretty straight forward and this is where the project activity duration is similar to an activity that has been perform and documented. Having completed a similar activity already, the previous task can provide many insights into cost and duration of repeating the activity. If the same task has not been performed internally then the project can look at historical data from a range of different sources to estimate the duration.…

His specific focus in this research is on ADS' role in the NextGen air traffic control and communications system. The selection of Qualitative isk Analysis is ideal for this type of research as it brings together what the author calls "informants" (Wood, 2009) who are also thought leaders in the technology communities working on the nextgen air communications and traffic control system. The research design encompasses the disciplines of aviation, avionics ADS-B, academic and computer science, all from a commercial aviation perspective (wood, 2009). This stratified research design makes the reliance on Qualitative isk Analysis even more relevant, as the need for contacting then interviewing key thought leaders in each of these disciplines forms the foundation for the secondary analysis of the dissertation. The sampling frame geographically is national in scope, and limited to the corporations who are publicly accessible working on these programs.

For instance, all of the men who became shipwrecked on the shores of Tauris were sacrificed to Artemis. Also, in the town of Brauron in Attica which held the stolen statue of Artemis from Tauric, there appeared one day a tame bear which was sacred to Artemis. This bear apparently wandered freely through the village and attacked a young girl with its claws. Soon after, this bear was killed by the girl's brother, an act which angered Artemis to no end. The oracle at Delphi then told the people of Tauric that they must "consecrate all of their daughters to Artemis" as a result of killing the bear. Thus, "every five years, a procession of young Tauric daughters, dressed in saffron-colored robes, solemnly walked to the temple of Artemis and voluntarily allowed themselves to be butchered" (Gimbutas, 312).
In addition, there are stories that Artemis was akin to a vampire,…

Sirius and XM Satellite Radio
Satellite radio has emerged in the past few years as the hot new trend in broadcasting. Operating similar to DirecTV, satellite radio companies bounce their signals off satellites to beam high-quality digital service coast-to-coast, offering exclusive ad-free programming. Satellite radio offers listeners the opportunity to hear any show anywhere in the United States, combining the benefits of premium quality sound and convenience when traveling on the road. Research indicates that similar to the way FM radio grew against dominant AM radio, satellite radio is becoming known for "edgier" alternative programming (McCarthy, at http://www.usatoday.com/money/media/2004-10-6-radio-compare_x.htm). The entire satellite radio industry is currently made up only two companies, XM Radio, which started broadcasting in 2001 and has 2.5 million customers, and Sirius, with 600,000 subscribers since going live in 2002. This paper will offer a comparative analysis of the two companies and a general overview of the satellite…

Delphi Printers and Peripherals is a leading firm activating the field of telecommunications and information technology, within the specific niche of printers and peripheral products. The organization has consolidated its position through the high quality of its products, as well as the creation and enforcement of a strong company image.
Today, Delphi Printers and Peripherals is developing a new printer, that would operate at quality standards superior to those of any of the previous products. Still, this endeavor is overshadowed by the fact that one of Delphi's primary competitors is currently creating a similar product, which would soon be launched within the market.
In this context, it is the desire of Delphi Printers and Peripherals to speed up the production process, in order to ensure that they come to launch…
Perhaps nowhere is Apollo's relevance as poignant as his association with prognostication. A whole cult devoted to Apollo centered on the god's ability to foresee the future and to communicate his findings to mortals. Only Zeus is depicted as being as omniscient as Apollo (orford & Lenardon p. 128). Apollo's "brightness" takes on a new meaning in his role as seer because he sheds light on the future and also helps illuminate the human experience. His "brightness" indicates good visual sight as well as foresight. Being a psychic seer mirrors having solid long-distance vision, and Apollo was also an archer, dubbed the "far-shooter" by Homer (orford & Lenardon p. 121).
Apollo's reputation as the god of foresight reached ancient Persia too. orford & Lenardon refer to the story of Croesus the Persian who heard of the Oracle at Delphi and sought Apollo's advice in spite of the geographic and cultural…
Morford & Lenardon state, "one can understand the simple and sincere belief in Apollo and Delphi possible in the 6th century BC. There is a fascinating interplay between the inevitability of fate or destiny and the individuality of human character and free will," (p. 133). Indeed, Apollo did straddle the two modes of thinking about human destiny. On the one hand, fate was inevitability and human beings need to resign themselves to it lest they upset a delicate cosmic balance. This view upholds the supremacy of the gods and portrays them much like Homer did: as egotistical meddlers in human affairs. Yet Homer also indicated the changing role of the gods in human affairs when he wrote his odes. The gods became less cruel and more inspiriting, especially Apollo.
On the other hand, human beings were expected to control their own destinies. Whether represented by a charioteer or an archer, human beings were to harness the forces of nature and set their sights on seemingly impossible targets. The Oracle of Apollo at Delphi shows that the Greeks evolved a relationship with the gods that was interactive. Fate was reality, and human beings could make with it what they wanted. The gods became less powerful as the works of human society became more impressive. The Greeks and later the Romans exhibited remarkable ambition both to expand their cultures and also to embolden them. Apollo is an emblem of the ancient world, representing its heterogeneity and its adaptability.

In Academy of Management, 8,633 incumbent managers from 52 managerial occupations were polled and the results showed that behavioral competencies are the very competencies that are least represented in the required MBA curricula. The findings further indicate that the institutional factors such as the media rankings and the mission orientation have almost no effect on the realignment of curricula with critical competencies. The advantage of this study is that shows how far most business schools have to go to reform their programs. Again, the downside are conservative faculty who drag their feet (Rubin & E.C., 2009, 208).

Finally, graduate business students themselves seem to feel they are being short changed, according to a dissertation by Arthur D. Waller of the Utah State University. According to the students in this study, a great skill lacking in graduate business school curricula, are training in the area of teamwork and leadership development. These students felt that the most important elements of a company are its people and that the technocratic nature of present programs overlook this. Unfortunately, this approach does ask companies what they want (Waller, 2008, iii-iv).
Socrates
In Euthyphro, Socrates' questioning centers on discovering the true definition of piety -- but it is geared towards arriving at a sense of reasonable judgment (after all, he himself is about to go before the judges, and he would like to receive a judgment that is reasonable from them). hat he meets in Euthyphro is willfulness and subjectivity. Socrates attempts to show why it is important to remain objective about the law and to what extent we can judge others: in fact, it is Socrates who is searching for an objective standard -- an absolute outside himself by which he may judge: "Tell me what is the nature of this idea, and then I shall have a standard to which I may look, and by which I may measure actions" (6e). Euthyphro happily engages in the dialogue and states that "piety, then, is that which is dear to the…

Economic Crisis Policies
US current economic crisis is considered to be started from real estate sector. The real sector started to decline in 2006 and it accelerated in 2007 and 2008. Housing prices have fallen from the peak from about 25% so far. The decline in prices left homeowners with no option and they were unable to refinance their mortgages and causes default of mortgages. This default of mortgages and loans swallowed the banks and financial markets such as falling of Lehman's brothers and other anks and blow to rest of economy happened as the whole economy was relying on banks and ultimately it slows down investment in the country and capital flows to other parts of the world like China and India. ank losses cause reduction of bank capital which in turn requires capital reduction thus saving bank from lending. It is estimated that every $100 loss and reduction…

Ford vs. Dodge
This is a paper that compares Dodge and Ford trucks. There are seven references used for this paper.
There are a number of trucks available to the consumer today. It is interesting to compare the 2004 Dodge RAM 1500 quad cab and the Ford F-150 to understand their similarities as well as their differences.
Dodge RAM
The 2004 Dodge RAM 1500 quad cab comes standard with a "five-speed HD manual transmission, and Magnum ® 3.7L V6 engine which produces 215 horsepower at 5,200 RPM and 235 pounds-feet of torque at 4,000 RPM (http://www-5.dodge.com/vehiclecompare/Startup.jam)." The truck has a "Gross Vehicle eight (GV) rating of 6,350 pounds, a rear 9.25 axle, and a 3.55 axle ratio (http://www-5.dodge.com/vehiclecompare/Startup.jam)." The axle ratio number is significant because a "numerically lower axle ratio results in lower engine rpm and better fuel economy. A numerically higher ratio improves acceleration, climbing grades, carrying loads or…

Matrix and the Power of Myth
Most people spend their lives caught up in petty matters like money, food, career, and worldly obligations. We are surrounded by so much technology and "progress" that finding time for the important things in life can be difficult or impossible. Today, our society is dominated by the city. "It is all stone and rock, manufactured by human hands. It's a different would to grow up in when you are out in the forest with little chipmunks and the great owls." (Campbell 92). Quickly, the spiritual and subconscious side of the homosapien is being phased out; it is not productive. Even the heroes of modern society are losing their luster. The original hero of the West, Christ, is falling out of favor. Even American heroes like Washington, Jefferson, and oone stood for things that are now antiquated or misunderstood. Campbell believes, "life today is so…

applying ethics to the career counseling field, as mandated by the Californian State and national organizations.
Numerous legal and ethical aspects need to be taken into account by professionals in the counseling field. Misunderstanding or unawareness of some ethical standard(s) cannot, by itself, help as a form of defense if charged with behaving unethically. Because of the fairly recent emergence of the 'counseling' concept in Nigeria, counselors have insufficient practical experience with regard to the relationship existing between counseling and the law (Bosede, 2010).
The counseling profession is dedicated to enhancing professional and scientific behavior-related knowledge and individuals' understanding of self and other individuals. It is also devoted to applying this knowledge towards proving individuals', societies' and organizations' conditions. Counselors safeguard and respect human and civil rights as well as the central significance of the freedom of expression and enquiry when it comes to research, publication, and teaching. For instance,…

With the debate and analysis aspects, critical thinking is, in fact, incorporated in the decision making process.
With the description of these three important elements of the decision making process (discussion, debate, and analysis), one can better understand the important and benefits of critical thinking in the decision making process. First of all, with critical thinking, everybody in the group is allowed to express and argue for his own opinion. There are several benefits deriving from this, most notably the fact that the final decision is likely to be embraced by all members in the group and the fact that the discussion and debate can generate a large volume of ideas and opinions, making the final decision one that better reflects reality.
The other great benefit comes from the analysis part of both the critical thinking and the decision making processes. The fact that critical thinking is part of the…

He prided himself on being a king that put the needs of his people above his own, struggling to keep his own feelings under wrap and focus instead on what his people needed. This desire to help the people led him to seek a cure for the plague, which was destroying people in masses. He sent Creon to Delphi, Apollo's place of revelation, to find out what could be done to save the city. Creon was told that the state must avenge the death of the former king Laios. After doing a little sould-searching, Oedipus learns that he was the killer of Laios, who was his father.
Oedipus takes full responsibility for the crime. "Citizens and alien alike must never shelter me or speak to me," he said. "I must be shunned by all. And I myself pronounced this malediction upon myself" (Sophocles, 42).
Like Socrates, Oedipus is visited by…

Of course, this is a supreme being who was authorized by a greater power to represent law, order, equity and custom and was not only the wife of Zeus, but also his counselor. In pre-Hellenic times wiser women made the most important decisions. Perhaps a woman brings more balance into life, in every person. In ancient times, women had the best judgmental capacity and were the most important in taking decisions.
It is universally acknowledged that the earliest appearance of justice in ancient Greek civilization is as a Goddess, whose function is to judge humans by punishing or rewarding their conduct in relation to the Divine Principle. The oldest record of justice dating from ancient Greece is to be found in Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, where Themis is mentioned for the first time, being depicted as the personification of the social and moral order of human affairs. Philosophy
Socrates has been accused of not recognizing the gods of the state, and also of inventing gods of his own. In fact, this is a two-part accusation. Socrates is first being accused for not believing in the state-sanctioned religion. Of course, it is impossible to know what Socrates does or does not believe. Based on his words, though, it would seem Socrates does actually believe in the gods although may not pay them the kind of respect that the Athenian courts would prefer.
The second part of the accusation is different. Here, the state accuses Socrates of inventing new divinities of his own. Socrates is in fact not starting a new religion and he does not tout the divine authority of any deity. If the accusation is taken collectively, that is, if declaration of guilt or innocence is made on the fulfillment of both these two parts, then Socrates…

Oedipus is at once a King of courage and judicial propriety, and also one in whom there is a tendency toward pride. Underlying it all, however, lays a great and secret blemish that awaits his discovery. It is through this secret mark - a birthmark of sorts - that fate, or the fates will eventually lead him to his downfall. It will be his character traits of courage, honesty and integrity, however, in combination with an ego and pride that are more closely related hubris that will actually bring about his inevitable acts of self-destruction via free will. In many ways, Oedipus was created as a perfect specimen through whom Sophocles could effectively deliver one of the most dramatic of ancient Greek tragedies.
ith generous measures of irony Sophocles provides tantalizing situations intended to hold the attention of the audience that knows the secret blemish of Oedipus long before he…

Heracles (means glory of Hera) is best known as the strongest of all mortals and considered as super hero on a grand scale. He is much stronger compared to other Gods. He was the deciding factor in allowing the Olympian Gods to win their battle with the giants. He was the last mortal son of Zeus. He is the only man born of mortal woman to become a god upon his death.
Offsetting his strength was a noticeable lack of intelligence or wisdom. Once when he became too hot he pulled his bow out and threatens to shoot the sun. This coupled with strong emotions in one so powerful frequently got Heracles in trouble. While his friend and cousin Theseus ruled Athens, Heracles had trouble ruling him. His pride was easily offended. He took up grudges easily and never forgot them. His appetites for food, wine, and women were as…

Oedipus
According to the traditional interpretations of classical drama, Oedipus the King was brought down by the gods or fate because of his pride, egoism and arrogance, which the ancient Greeks called hybris (hubris). His father King Laius left him exposed to the elements on a mountainside when he was three days old because he believed the prophecy that his son would murder him then marry his mother, so he imagined that he was saving his own family line from disgrace. Yet when he met his son on the road to Delphi many years later, he and his chariot driver were treated him in a very rude and contemptuous manner, so Oedipus killed them, without even knowing who Laius was. Neither man was willing to give way on the road, and would not tolerate the insults of the other, so the old prophecy was fulfilled. Oedipus goes on to become…

Clinical Guidelines
The methods used to assess the quality and strength of the evidence by the National Guidelines Clearinghouse include expert consensus (alone and through committee and/or Delphi methods), subjective review, and weighting according to a rating scheme (in which the scheme may be give or not given). The methods use to collect and/or select the evidence that will be evaluated include the following: Hand-searches of published literature (primary sources and secondary sources), searches of electronic databases, and searches of patient registry data. The methods used to create, formulate, or establish the recommendations include: Informal expert consensus, expert consensus (alone, and through Delphi methods, nominal group technique, and/or consensus development conference), and balance sheets.
The guidelines comparisons of the National Guidelines Clearinghouse indicate that the rating schemes for the strength of the recommendations are derived from the weighted scheme used the developer of the guideline. These rating schemes are used…

The American Society of Addiction led the efforts in this research. The society states that addiction is not only an issue with people's behavior regarding the use or abuse of substances, sex, or gambling. The society states that addiction is ideally a brain dysfunction. Addiction has also been defined as a behavior that occurs as a result of involvement in PA or substance use without…

That irony is not lost on many of the high technology executives who at one time advocated disintermediating their entire dealer channel and taking their largest customers direct only to discover that trust is the greatest catalyst of efficient transactions of all (Smith, Manna, 2004, 377, 378).

Why Disintermediation Failed to Live Up to the Hype
Before discussing the reasons why disintermediation failed to live up to the hype associated with it, there are exceptions that need to be taken into account. The first is in those industries that have undifferentiated supply chains and where price and availability alone are the only differentiators, disintermediation often takes hold. Such is the case with the Indian tea market, and many sectors of the consumer electronics industries that sell on a commodity-based strategy. These are the industries most susceptible to disintermediation as the middle tier of the distribution channels don't deliver that…

If I were to conclude the significance of Paul's letter to Philemon and his approach to demand Onesimus' hospitality and kinship status, I can say that it was clearly his approach towards his demands that has made the letter such a major topic of discussion with regards to slavery. If Paul had taken an aggressive approach and straight away demanded the release and freedom of Onesimus, the letter would not been preserved in the history books for the generations to follow; that is a surety. I say this because it was Paul's approach and choice of language structure that caused for a large amount of debate to follow. It has been this debate, whether it has been on slavery or the various interpretations of his language structure, that has allows this letter and the relevant history to live on through the centuries. Of course, it is important to understand Philemon's role here as well, because it was his choice to treat the letter with a certain amount of respect and dignity that contributed to the letter's longevity as well. If Philemon had chosen to disregard Paul's requests and thrown away the letter as one that was not worthy of consideration, nobody would've even had the chance to debate the letter's significance in history. This again takes me back to the language structure adopted by Paul as he was able to soften his approach of the numerous demands as well that helped Philemon play his part of respecting what was demanded. Interestingly enough, Onesimus did go on to take on the duties as a bishop! To think that this line of action came about with only a choice of softening one's demands is extra-ordinary and the credit goes solely to Paul!

The work of building the tunnels was extremely dangerous -- danger of collapse of the sandy soil and bad air in the tunnels. The airmen had to place a high probability on the Germans discovering the plot owing to the traces of the excavated soil and nosy guards. The cost of failure would be catastrophic -- this was a "do it or die" proposition. (Kozak-Holland, 2008)

Web Services in the context of an SOA framework are designed to be the catalyst of greater order accuracy and speed, further increasing performance of the entire company in the process. The collection of Web Services is meant to not replace the traditional and highly engrained EP systems in a company; rather Web Services are meant to extend and enhance their performance and making them more agile over time (Alonso, Kuno, Casati, Machiraju, 2004). Theorists have suggested that the SOA framework is only as successful as the approaches taken to creating a unified Web Services strategy that creates a single system of record of customer data the entire company standardizes on (Kobielus, 2007). This concept of the system of record is defined as Master Data Management (MDM) and is the basis of analytics and Business Intelligence (BI), which are fueling more focus on measuring the value of SOA frameworks from…

Houses permitted the people to move from a nomadic existence to a settled and more organized way of life. The majority of the houses were square with other rooms built on. The palaces of the early Sumerian culture were the political, economic and religious focal points of the city; large-scale, lavishly decorated, and consisted of rooms used to house craftsmen and such. Archaeological finds have also revealed them to be temples and burial chambers for the elite, as well as library complexes, armories, and entertainment halls decorated with pictorial and mythological figures.
It was during the time of the Sumerian civilisation transitioning from nomadic hunting to agriculture, that many changes occurred as the population grew and more force was exerted on the local food supply. This necessitated more organization and administration that led to non-tribal leadership with its own political, economic and religious arrangement. Mesopotamia's expansion led to a wide…
One exception to this is Pausanias, a Greek writer. He recorded the quarrying done in Greece but he lived in the second century a.D. For other details, the information related to their architecture is limited to the writings of Vitruvius, an architect in ome, also a military engineer and a writer who lived during the rule of Augustus (Masrgary, 1957; Derry and Williams, 1961).
The Greek construction inherits its glory from the timber-framed European houses that revolved around three chambers and hearths and not from the buildings in the Near East or even the Mycenean tombs. The temples that appeared earlier in Greece were built of mud bricks with a timber roof that was thatched to facilitate a wider construction, the transverse beams were held by a row of posts that were kept in the middle and the posts were also kept in the mud brick walls for the same…

And, if one flees historical reality, then, is it not futile in that eventually it will catch up with us? As a "guest" of this world, then, what is the basic responsibility we have towards humanity? Daru chooses an isolated and ascetic life -- he flees society, but society catches up with him, and it is his decision that allows him to become -- more human. Of true importance in this work is that the original title in French, L'hote means two things -- the guest, or the host. Thus, the title refers to the struggle of both the prisoner and the schoolmaster; giving the reader a moral guide that is less than logical, but historically practical (Camus, 2000).

How the respective societies responded to the various ideas?
Socrates would have a dramatic impact upon society, as the various ideas he presented would become a part of the moral code that is often cited, as a part of basic sociology. A good example of this can be seen with social contract theory. This simply states that humans are motivated by conscious / unconscious actions and the experiences, they have from different events. The ideas of good and justice can be directly seen with how humans react to various situations they face, either consciously or unconsciously. The underlying positive or negative experiences will shape how someone views the world around them. Those who can associate goodness and justice, to their actions will have the most positive effect, on the individual and within society. Over the centuries, this sense moral goodness has become a part of the moral standards within Western…

ole-based EP systems are critical for the siloed, highly inefficient architectures of legacy EP systems to be made more relevant, contribute greater financial performance, and lead to higher levels of overall customer satisfaction.
c. Purpose of the study
The purpose the study is evaluate how enterprises who adopt role-based EP system implementations are able to attain higher levels of financial and operations-based performance vs. those that rely on silo-based, more functionally defined EP structures. ole-based EP systems have been proven to lead to greater order accuracy, velocity and customer satisfaction as a result. The ability to gain greater visibility throughout supply chains, better manage pricing, discounts, implement and maintain contract management systems, and also deliver consistently high customer service have all been attributed to role-based EP systems. Conversely siloed EP systems that are managed strictly to functional areas have been shown to severely limit the ability of enterprises to be…

The fact that most men sublimate this feeling, and instead identify with their father to obtain the maternal figure in the form of another woman, is the reason the Oedipus myth was generated in the first place.
Freud's theory was popular not only 'on the couch' but in literary theory. Ernest Jones suggested that it is the reason Hamlet cannot bring himself to kill his uncle: "Now comes the father's death and the mother's second marriage. The long 'repressed' desire to take his father's place in his mother's affection is stimulated to unconscious activity by the sight of some one usurping this place exactly as he himself had once longed to do… the two recent events, the father's death and the mother's second marriage . . . represented ideas which in Hamlet's unconscious fantasy had for many years been closely associated" (Jones 98-99).
Regardless of the merit of Freud's theory,…

Looking at the above list, it is apparent that aside from basic OMA knowledge, two competency areas are particularly important in entry-level positions: personal qualities and human relations skills. Personal qualities include characteristics like flexibility, maturity, outgoing and pleasant personality, and strong skills in communication, organization, time management, multitasking, problem solving, and critical analysis. In the category of human relations, multicultural sensitivity, teamwork, and active listening are deemed important.
Slide # 6. The Issues We Face (Common Issues in Multicultural Affairs)
Professionals within multicultural affairs are faced with various issues that fall categorically in the areas of racial identity, and ethnicity, LGBT, religion, and student disability ("Bias incidents," n.d., para. 1; Flowers, L, 2003, Contents, Section 2). Issues that permeate all categories include, harassment, bias incidents and hate crimes.

Another aspect that the search engines use to line up web pages, besides the frequency of the characters, is the appropriateness of the topic i.e. A search on "elephants" will not yield the same results as a search on "elephants in Africa" or "animal rights: elephants (Valenza, 1997). This difference has to be explained by the librarian-teachers to the students in the initial stages of their online research endeavors so that when they conduct research on a more vast topic, they have to ability to break own the topic and concentrate on the words and areas that will yield the most relevant information at the quickest pace. It is important to note here that the accuracy of a the use of words is also part of knowledge management as it requires an individual to first manage the little knowledge he has on the topic, i.e. distinguishing the important aspects for…

Unfortunately, Philoctetes' talents led him down the path of war (Lloyd-Jones, 1994). He was a witness and participant to bloodshed, plunder and rape. Eventually, he became so disgusted with himself that he decided to punish himself for his sins by allowing a poisonous snake to bite him. As a result, he was shipped off to the isolated island of Lemnos, where he was physically isolated from the rest of the world for nine years. During this time, all he could do was think about his life and his crimes, which was sort of a self-punishment for his sinful existence.
I think that this type of physical isolation can be very damaging to a person. Today, many prisoners are kept in solitary confinement for days, completely cut off from all social activities and human contact. Isolation in prison means 23 hours a day in a concrete cell no larger than a…

Overall, Philip's main goal was to create a united Macedonia and thus instill in his people the desire to bring about the collapse of the Persian Empire which in his eyes would bring about much-needed economic changes in Macedonian society, all for the good of its citizens and its king.
One of Philip's most important triumphs as king of Macedonia prior to the rise of Alexander the Great was the creation of the League of Corinth which came about after the battle of Chaeronea in oeotia in 338 .C.E. Although the defeated Greek states were allowed to keep their internal freedoms, they were compelled by Philip to join his alliance with himself as its undisputed leader. The creation of this league was a decisive turning point in the history of ancient Greece, for never again would Greek states be allowed to make their own foreign policies without considering the wishes…

othwell stresses both internal and external information with regard to supply and demand of labor skill sets, making clear that the development of internal skills is more available to the H and line manager than external supply information. (p. 168) it is for this reason that internal information of labor supply, including all demographic and skill set information on each employee be an important and centralized system that is streamlined to some degree. This may be done by direct review of employee performance, i.e. By the line manager as well as by employee communication of skill set through reviews and written statements upon hire and later to ensure that such information is up-to-date and planning for future improvement is developed, including desire by employee to improve skill set and achieve educational goals, as well as streamlining of such information through planning and communication on the part of H and line…

All of the Greek gods and their interactions were very similar to how humans would naturally act. They are all inclined to be jealous and vengeful of one another, along with having affairs that rival any daytime soap opera. They would choose sides and create massive wars on earth in order to win their way and prove their point.
Although the ancient Greek religion had fundamental elements which were very similar to other ancient religions, there is one thing that set it apart. The quarrelsome Greek gods did not try to teach their human subjects any kind of religious doctrine. Unlike Judaism and Christianity, with its strict rules and commandments, the Greek religion had no specific doctrines which it's followers needed to generally follow. Instead, the ancient tradition relied on mysticism, such as what was seen in the case of the Oracle of Delphi. Many researchers and scholars say that…
In this article, the author describes the technological, demographic, and market forces shaping this new digital media culture and the rich array of Web sites being created for children and teens. Many nonprofit organizations, museums, educational institutions, and government agencies are playing a significant role in developing online content for children, offering them opportunities to explore the world, form communities with other children, and create their own works of art and literature. For the most part, however, the heavily promoted commercial sites, sponsored mainly by media conglomerates and toy companies, are overshadowing the educational sites. ecause of the unique interactive features of the Internet, companies are able to integrate advertising and Web site content to promote "brand awareness" and "brand loyalty" among children, encouraging them to become consumers beginning at a very early age. The possibility that a child's exploration on the Internet might lead to inappropriate content, aggressive advertising,…
