The case involve M, a 35-year old mother with three children from two fathers. He most recent boyfriend, the father of the youngest child, has beaten her twice, been arrested and jailed, but is about to be released. Despite a restraining order, Melissa is terrified. Her economic situation is dire – she lives at an inexpensive motel, works part-time for under the table wages, and relies on WIC services. Most recently, her 12-year old son was arrested for shoplifting and suspended from school for fighting.

This essay examines different kinds of organizational loss, and how the security manager can prevent and respond to these losses. While the particular circumstances may vary, the underlying theoretical concepts are the same. By paying attention to surveillance, communication, symbiosis, and directed autonomy, the security manager can prevent and respond to organizational loss regardless of the context or degree of loss.

The ethical and legal consequences of testing employees without their knowledge or consent puts Danville Airlines into a defensive position, having to both explain to David Reiger why they are not letting him fly, and potentially to his attorneys how the testing took place at all. The issue of genetics testing raises ethical and legal conflicts, creating a paradox for companies who practice this type of screening (Howard, Richardson, Thorpe, 2009). Danville Airlines has been negligent in their process of medical screening, allowing samples taken from Reiger to be sent to a genetics screening lab (Darden, 2004). Especially detrimental to Reiger is the emotional trauma and pain of being diagnosed with Huntington's disease, the same disease which took his father's life as well (Darden, 2004). Danville is now in the paradoxical situation of having told people outside the company of Reiger's condition, also informing Reiger he will no longer be allowed to fly for the airline, in addition to still not taking steps to fix the several lack of compliance and oversight in its Human Resources Department (Darden, 2004). Even if the screening was technically legal and the attorneys for Danville successfully argue that the genetic testing results are binding, it still doesn't excuse the company from violating Reiger's rights as defined by the 1990 Americans With Disabilities Act (Avitabile, Jappelli, Padula, 2011). It also doesn't excuse the fact that this data, so detrimental to his ability to earn a living, is now out in public with those outside the company, as the case suggests (Darden, 2004). By allowing this to happen, Danville is now in violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. The intent of this paper is to analyze the case and provide a series of recommendations on how Danville can mitigate the losses from their negligence.

Introduction: Communication being an important element of organizations needs to be integrated in all areas of working so that the purpose, the goals, objectives, and the mission with which the organization is formed are achieved successfully. The concept of integrated marketing is applied everywhere in the world by almost more than half of the organizations. Out of which many are the renowned brands who precisely used their marketing communications to build this spot for themselves. The marketing communications require that all concepts of marketing communication come together to combine as synergy and perform one unified function for building the brand.

Sarbanes-Oxley Act Introduction The Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOA) was put into law in 2002 following the revelations that Enron (and Enron's accountancy Arthur Anderson), WorldCom, and other corporations were using blatantly corrupt practices in accounting and causing huge losses for stakeholders in those firms. Moreover, the U.S. Congress could not simply stand by and allow companies to use unethical and illegal practices to scam huge sums of money for corporate executives while stripping the IRAs and other savings plans for stakeholders. Basically, the SOA was legislation that attempted to stop this aspect of corporate fraud: the illegal accounting practices that were in place and resulted in the collapse of WorldCom, Enron, and other firms.

Social clause refers to standards which contractors observe in order to cater for public contracts. They usually must be respected to avoid downward pressure on income and working standards. This is usually viewed to bring division between the rich (also referred to as the global north) and the poor (referred to as the global south). The difference between the north and the south has led to a competition that seems to be bringing the north down to the same level with the global south also called the ‘race to the bottom'. I believe that the ‘race to the bottom' is happening and modern trends such as globalization and liberalization continue to catalyze the process. This paper will look at the ‘race to the bottom' theory and how it is gradually unfolding in present times.

The modern day business climate is more challenging and dynamic and it forces the economic agents to seek alternative sources of strategic advantages. One example in this sense is represented by the enhancement of the emphasis placed on supporting learning and the continuous development of the organization of learning. While this concept is gaining more and more interest within the economic agents, it is also highly applicable within public entities, such as hospitals.
