What is Mood?

Mood is a broad psychological and literary concept that appears across many academic disciplines, from psychology and health sciences to literature and art history. In psychology courses, mood is examined as a clinical and behavioral phenomenon, with particular attention to conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related mood disorders. In literature and humanities courses, mood functions as a craft element — the emotional atmosphere a text creates for readers — and in art history it surfaces in the analysis of visual works. Because mood connects inner experience to outward expression across so many domains, it serves as a compelling subject for interdisciplinary academic writing.

The papers in this collection reflect that range. Some take a literary analysis approach, examining how mood is constructed through symbolism and narrative tone in works such as Rudyard Kipling's "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi" and Nathaniel Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter." Others adopt a psychological or clinical lens, differentiating mood disorders from anxiety and delusional disorders or exploring conditions like bipolar disorder. Additional papers take an environmental or behavioral angle, investigating how external factors such as color affect mood in children, or how substances like caffeine alter emotional states.

A strong essay on mood establishes a clear, focused thesis about how or why mood functions in a specific context — whether clinical, literary, or environmental. Effective evidence includes textual examples, psychological frameworks, or documented behavioral observations, depending on the discipline. The most common pitfall is treating mood as too vague a subject: without a concrete framework or defined scope, arguments tend to remain surface-level rather than analytically substantive.

The legality of U.S. drone strikes under international law
Abstract The legality of the drone strikes is a disputed matter. A major challenge to the international law and the international system is the US policy of using drones aerially to carry out target killings. According to some reports US drone strikes have killed almost 4,000 people since 2002 in Pakistan, Yemen and other countries. The Congress of United States of America reviews their policy of drone strikes, which had increased to a great deal under the Obama regime, every month. The main problem of using the drone strikes is that it has not been able to stop terrorism. Instead of stopping it, it has given rise to the terrorist activities. This study is a research based on the topic of drone attacks and the legality of targeted attacks. The study is based on information and research. The study includes graphs and charts which are based on reliable sources.

Measuring prejudice beyond Black populations: validity of standardized assessment scales
The strength of the scale includes the fact that it is reinforced by a news-story of relevant import so as to make it current and more immediate in its objective of investigation. It also does not ask questions but states general observations. Respondents may therefore be more honest, particularly since they may feel secure in that others share their opinion. Limitations include the facts that the participants may be in a hurry to attend lectures or may be occupied with other issues therefore they may provide survey with only cursory attention. They may also have some concealed prejudice towards interviewer (called interviewer prejudice), not necessarily because of her race but also attributable to other factors, such as appearance, clothing, similarities to another who participant distrusts and so forth. Context and mood are other factors that may impact survey, as well as connotations of questions or text. Other limitations include the fact that the items do not encourage elaborate response, therefore participants may be constrained to respond in a certain way to one or more items that had they responded at length would have demonstrated a different picture.
