Introduction Success, failure, blame, mistakes and effectiveness are amongst some of the words which are usually associated with projects. Vic Passion and Gina Gotsill also incorporate many of such key words while discussing about reflections and lessons learned from a project in their article; ‘Learning lessons as a team'. The article serves as a brief guide for project managers and organizations as it encompasses the old yet the golden rule of learning from experiences. What issue/topic is the article addressing?

The Midwestern: Contemporary Art Case study revolves around the MCA board chaired by Peggy and the $5 million pledge that the Smiths had made before he had a disagreement with the board. It is with no doubt according to Peggy Fischer, that Peter Smith had done an admirable job in running the museum. He had worked his way up from being a member of the board and later on being unanimously elected to the position of a chairman because of his and his wife's immense contribution to the art museum. Ever since Peter Smith's wife was diagnosed with cerebral vascular spasm, peter had responded to his wife's last wishes of collecting art. They became avid members of Midwestern: Contemporary Art Museum and started collecting art they thought was contemporary. It is this act that made them known among the locals as they started to financially support the art museum especially when peter was called to join the board, paying a pledge of $10, 000 dollars which he gracefully gave out.

On January 16, 2012 Zappos' experienced its first major security breach through a compromised server at its recently opened Kentucky Distribution Center, with an experienced hacker gaining access to potentially 24 million customer records. The Zappos' internal ordering systems had encrypted passwords for safety as part of its basic architecture, yet the last four digits of credit cards, complete customer histories and contact information were all compromised (Letzing, 2012). Zappos is the world's leading online store selling women's men's, and children's shoes and accessories, and was recently sold by founder and CEO Tony Hsieh to Amazon.com for $800 million (Hsieh, 2010). As part of the sales of this massive website and online business, Tony Hsieh successfully negotiated to retain control over the logistics, supply chain and innovative approaches to warehouse management that drastically reduces the time to complete an order (McDonald, 2011).

This acceptable IT use policy statement is designed to provide our employees with the agility and flexibility to meet customer needs with accuracy and speed, while also protecting our IT systems, data, and records. This document defines the baseline of expectations for Cincom employees in interacting with all Cincom computing systems, platforms, Virtual Private Network (VPN) connections and partner sites as well. Every employee is expected at a minimum to ensure their activities on all Cincom IT systems don't jeopardize the confidentiality of customer data, financial data generated from Cincom operations, product and project development plans, and costing data of projects. As Cincom engages in confidential projects with governments globally in addition to the U.S. Department of Defense, any employee using data on these projects are required to have a valid DoD clearance in good standing. As Cincom's business is heavily dependent on these projects it is expected that employees will take every possible action to protect the sensitivity and privacy of all information and data sources within the Cincom IT systems. Employees with security clearances are expected to abide by all guidelines of the use of confidential government data on projects. This includes abiding by all vault processes and procedures for confidential government data, across all national ministries of defense served on Cincom projects. Employees are also expected to use Cincom IT systems during business hours for company work only; Internet use for personal activities needs to be completed off the premises given the highly secured nature of the Cincom IT system architecture and platform. Employees who fail to abide by these guidelines or willingly violate them will be subject to immediate dismissal and possible disciplinary actions. If government data from the U.S. or other nations are compromised, Cincom and the governments whose data has been compromised will engage in legal proceeding to retrieve and protect all assets, in addition to holding a formal investigation of the activities that led to the breach.
