What is Persuasive Essays (Examples)?

The definition of a persuasive essay is an essay that seeks to persuade the reader to adopt the writer’s perspective on a certain topic.  Persuasive essays may also be known as argumentative essays.  They differ from descriptive essays or even compare and contrast essays in that persuasive essays encourage the reader to adopt a position by the conclusion of the essay.

To write a persuasive essay, it is important for the writer to clearly take a position on the topic.  You want your reader not only to understand that you have taken a position, but to be convinced by your reasoning that your position is the correct one.

To build a great persuasive essay, the writer needs to establish a clear-cut argument for his or her position.  Usually, the format to do this involves introducing the topic and the position, and then going into detail about the supporting arguments.  A good persuasive argument needs at least three supporting arguments to really explain why the writer’s position is the one the reader should choose.

The tools necessary for a persuasive essay are logic, reasoning, and addressing the other side of the argument.  All of the supporting arguments need to contain internal logic, but they also need to logically support the writer’s thesis statement or opinion on the topic.  Sometimes, it might even be helpful to use a logic tree to ensure that your supporting arguments are well-reasoned and all support your thesis statement.

The best way to learn how to write a great persuasive essay is to read persuasive essays on a variety of topics.  We have included some persuasive essay examples to help you familiarize yourself with the genre.

Correspondence Bias and Why Might it Occur?
In the practice of social psychology, correspondence bias or also known as the theory of fundamental attribution error will refer to the over-valuing of explanations that are based from personality perspective under circumstantial situations. This process can lead into misunderstanding between one or two parties that include communities, societies, and groups that are living within the same area or different area. This can be considered as a form of stereotyping incidents for the reason that there are false beliefs and perceptions regarding a particular individual or group with respect to their daily routines and practices. There are cultural variations in the correspondence bias for the reason that discrimination regardless of age, race, and gender can be a perfect example for this case according with their demographical orientation and capabilities as pointed out by Bundel (2011).

Social variables in business relationship development with Libyan companies
Libya is classified as a developing country (AMS, 2012), and although it has long had relationships with the West, it has been subject to UN sanctions for many years, essentially because of its foreign policy (BBC, 2004), which caused a rather volatile relationship with the United States and many other countries in the world. Whilst Libya was not at war with any of these countries, neither was it at peace, and there was suspicion and discomfort on both sides. All of that, however, occurred under the previous regime, which has now fallen, and with that in mind it is important to be aware of what Libya has to offer and how successful international business relationships can be established and maintained between it and the rest of the world in the future. Clearly, there are important and significant factors involved, and examining them is one way to address the issue.
