What is Process Essays (Examples)?

A process essay is fundamentally different from other types of academic writing assignments.  In fact, it is closer to technical writing than to other types of academic writing. That is because a process essay describes a process that leads to a specific outcome.  There are two approaches to the process essay.  The first approach is often referred to as a directional process essay and is the simpler of the two approaches; it describes the steps necessary to complete a task.  The second approach to the process essay does more than outline steps, it also analyzes or explains the steps involved in the process.  The wording of your assignment will be important when you are trying to determine which approach to take while writing your process essay.

The introduction of your process essay needs to accomplish several things.  First, it needs to introduce the process you are going to describe, and give background information about that process, when such information is necessary.  Next, it needs to identify your audience.  Identifying your audience does not require actually saying the targeted audience for your essay, but, if your reader needs a certain educational, technical, or professional background to understand the essay, then the introduction provides a great opportunity for you to provide that material.

The body of the essay involves your actual descriptions of the process.  For simple directional process essays, the body of the essay involves a step-by-step description of each part of the process.  For analytical process essays, in addition to outlining the steps you might explain them to the reader or analyze whether the steps are necessary to the process and make the process more efficient, or should be eliminated or changed in order to maximize efficiency and performance.

Finally, the conclusion of your essay will reiterate what you hope to achieve with the process described in the essay.  If you have analyzed the process and found it lacking, the conclusion may also describe suggestions for further study or review.

Sensorial education and the three-period lesson in Montessori preschools
Sensorial education is a vital component of the Montessori educational plan and is something which is a pillar of this philosophy. Despite how valuable it is, it is still often misunderstood. "Sensorial education helps develop a child's intellect. Whether you believe intelligence is genetic or produced by environment, you can further it by education. Intelligence is built upon experiences and thought processes. The Montessori materials for ages 18 months to 6 are designed to help a child's mind develop the necessary skills for later intellectual learning" (MontessoriMom.com, 2013). Sensorial education refers to then the stimulus that allows a child to process the world around him or her, ultimately becoming the building blocks of other thought processes. People unfamiliar with the Montessori Method believe that education is merely a task for sharpening the senses, when this couldn't be further from the truth: this is a common misconception of what sensorial education is (Montessorimom.com, 2013)

Writing is communication. It is essential in business to get a message across, but also should be not only industry and/or audience specific, but should communicate the message intended in the most appropriate manner. Communication does not work if it is not understood, and part of the process of understanding is being able to focus the message properly. At times, certain professions mix jargon, technical terms, and usage that is either inappropriate or outside the level of the audience. Technology in Education Assessing Three Emerging Technologies\'
There are a myriad of new technologies emerging that have the potential to completely re-order and increase the level of learning effectiveness and performance of students. With so many new technologies emerging as diverse as mobile-based learning systems on smartphones to the ability to tailor online learning systems and complete networks, the opportunities for educators to innovate has never been more full of potential. What unifies the highest performing technologies in the area of learner involvement and performance are those that allow for students to define the pace, depth and repetition possible for a given subject. All of these technologies share a common characteristic of being able to align and support learner's specific goals and objectives, creating a highly effective educational scaffolding platform in the process (Najjar, 2008). The best technologies can be quickly tailored to each individual student's needs, while also allowing for students to repeat lessons and concepts to gain greater mastery of subjects studied. The potential of these technologies to augment and increase long-term learning for students at all grade and performance levels is significant and will continue to accelerate. The three technologies included in this analysis include blogging platforms including WordPress; collaboration and information sharing platforms including Facebook, Twitter and online learning portals; and mobile platforms including tablet PCs. It is feasible all three of these technologies could be combined into a comprehensive learning platform, enabling instructors to create individualized learning plans for each student.
