What is Process Essays (Examples)?

A process essay is fundamentally different from other types of academic writing assignments.  In fact, it is closer to technical writing than to other types of academic writing. That is because a process essay describes a process that leads to a specific outcome.  There are two approaches to the process essay.  The first approach is often referred to as a directional process essay and is the simpler of the two approaches; it describes the steps necessary to complete a task.  The second approach to the process essay does more than outline steps, it also analyzes or explains the steps involved in the process.  The wording of your assignment will be important when you are trying to determine which approach to take while writing your process essay.

The introduction of your process essay needs to accomplish several things.  First, it needs to introduce the process you are going to describe, and give background information about that process, when such information is necessary.  Next, it needs to identify your audience.  Identifying your audience does not require actually saying the targeted audience for your essay, but, if your reader needs a certain educational, technical, or professional background to understand the essay, then the introduction provides a great opportunity for you to provide that material.

The body of the essay involves your actual descriptions of the process.  For simple directional process essays, the body of the essay involves a step-by-step description of each part of the process.  For analytical process essays, in addition to outlining the steps you might explain them to the reader or analyze whether the steps are necessary to the process and make the process more efficient, or should be eliminated or changed in order to maximize efficiency and performance.

Finally, the conclusion of your essay will reiterate what you hope to achieve with the process described in the essay.  If you have analyzed the process and found it lacking, the conclusion may also describe suggestions for further study or review.

How to Design Our Prandtl Wing Shape
A PrandtlPlane aircraft configuration is based on the concept of "Best Wing System". The best wing, according to Frediani et al (2012) is the lifting system with the minimum induced drag. A large amount of aerodynamic analyses is needed to develop this best wing and the most recent improved version was that set up by the Univ. of Pisa in 2012 named MSD (Multiple Shape Design); it has been set up to generate any aerodynamic PrandtlPlane configuration. The MSD calculates the best conditions for the Prandtl wing which include the following: - The total surface area of the Prandtl Wing must have the same surface area as the White Knight Two from Virgin Galactic for comparison purposes - The lift on both wings of the Prandtl Wing must each have the same lift - The lift distribution on each wing section must be elliptical (two sections per wing, two wings = 4 sections total) The following essay works out these specifications.

Explaining Dental Biofilm to a Client
Ms. Lark, while I understand your concerns about the results of your recent dental biofilm examination, I would like to take some time to explain the diagnosis in more detail to help alleviate those concerns. First, it is important to remember that dental biofilm is not a disease, nor does it result from poor dental habits on your part, as these naturally occurring collections of bacterial communities are simply microorganisms functioning as nature intended. You have probably heard of plaque, while that oral health issue is widely known, and the data obtained from empirical studies during the last decade shows that plaque is simply one manifestation of dental biolfilm (Reddy et al., 2012). Nonetheless, the presence of this biofilm on your teeth or tongue is a serious matter, because modern dental science has shown that these bacterial communities can cause a number of harmful oral and periodontal diseases. The disclosing solution we administered earlier utilizes a simple food coloring solution, along with erythrosin, a coal-tar derivative (Che´rel et al., 2008) to bind to the microbial structure of the biofilm, allowing dental hygienists to "see" a substance that is often undetectable to the naked eye.
