Is Pitocin Induction a Factor in Postpartum Hemorrhage?
This is quantitative correlational study research proposal on the suitability of the use or induction of pitocin (oxytocin injection) to prevent postpartum hemorrhage. It presents the findings of five separate updated and authoritative studies on the subject. The studies discuss the efficacy of pitocin, the appropriate dose for caesarean cases, the comparison between induction of labor with vaginal misoprostal plus oxytocin as against oxytocin alone, pitocin as a high-alert medication and the nurse's role in administering or inducting pitocin to the patient.
