The terrorist attacks of September 11th 2001 as well as several previous acts of domestic and international terrorism sparked responses from nearly every civic agency in the United States. Each and every agency across the nation was called to action both immediately with temporary changes and in the long term with fundamental legal and policy actions that are believed to aid in the future response to disasters of both the man-made kind and natural (Glendening, 2002, p. 21). Maryland is poised in a position where challenges are inherent due in part to its close proximity to Washington DC, with Maryland surrounding two thirds of Washington DC, and because of some of the fundamentally high risk target sites within it, such as a nuclear facility and its own World Trade Center in Baltimore, long and sparsely controlled coastlines, just to name a few (21).

Trip of a Lifetime Bon Giorno, Italia! This is the trip of a lifetime to Italy, financed by a $50,000.00 inheritance from a nonexistent relative. The trip is for two people, including Yours Truly and a good friend who shall be known as "Zippy." Money is fortunately no object, as most researched financial aspects of this trip are stunningly high. Unfortunately, our time is limited to a two-week period, which is not long enough. This is an initially fun but eventually sobering exercise. Beginning with $50,000.00 USD and believe that we could live like Italian Kings for two weeks, the research forced an increasingly timid assessment of our ability to enjoy the trip of a lifetime in Italy. Even with a budget of $41,337.05, we did not calculate the costs of visiting every listed tourist attraction. Consequently, unless and until that $50,000.00 inheritance is forthcoming, we will have to say "Ciao, Italia!"

The purpose of this report is to analyze and discuss the sustainability practices and efforts of one of the leading airlines of the world – Lufthansa Group. Every organization incorporates some sustainability practices that show its concern for the society it serves and the environment in which conducts its business (Bleischwitz & Hennicke 2004). Through this paper, an attempt has been made to discuss the key sustainability practices which Lufthansa Group has adopted for proving itself as a socially and environmentally sustainable organization. The paper starts with a brief introduction to the organization and then highlights its major sustainability efforts. The later sections discuss the two most important sustainability practices and give recommendations on how this organization can improve these practices in the light of business sustainability models.

Psychological Distress in a Natural Disaster Introduction Among the many problems that humans encounter following a natural disaster is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). PTSD can result from natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornados among other frightening natural events that cause damage and result in serious injuries and loss of life. When humans are exposed to horrific natural disasters they may continue to carry the fearful events in their memories; those realistic recollections can haunt the individual to the point of causing serious psychological disorders. Hence, PTSD can become a very serious emotional problem that requires psychological help from professionals. This paper provides instances of PTSD research following natural disasters – and studies that delve into the dynamics of PTSD that resulted from natural disasters, including the terrible flooding in Thailand in 2000.

MANAGEMENT 302 Management involves numerous studies, theories, tests and applications. Some useful theories are Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, the McGregor XY Theory test, Hofstede's cultural assessments, Tuckman's four stages of forming, storming, norming Group Stages, and the 7 dimensions of corporate culture. Using these and other tools, we discover that Southwest Airlines, Inc. and the Coca-Cola Company use widely different tactics and dimensions, yet both are leaders in their industries. Clearly, knowledgeably applying different tactics and dimensions can be highly successful.
