"As I told the Main Political Administration," Putin clapped Ramius' shoulder again, "Red October is in the best of hands!"

Ramius and Kamarov both smiled at that. You son of a bitch! The captain thought…you will not live to eat those words…" (Clancy 6).

This quote demonstrates that what appears to be a joke between both of these men in pleasure is really taken as another reason for Ramius to kill Putin, which shows the danger in Putin believing delusion that Ramius likes him enough to joke with him.

Watzlawick's book warns of the hazardous consequences of failing to realize there is more than one reality that exists between people. The following exchange between the two men suggests this fact. "…again we go to sea to serve and protect the Rodina!"…"Indeed, Ivan" Ramius replied (Clancy 3). In this exchange, Putin tells Ramius that they are going to serve Russia, the motherland, and Ramius agrees. Really, however, Ramius is planning to defect to America and kill Putin. Therefore, what Putin believes is reality as based upon his communication is really deception, which Watzlawick's book warns against.
In summary, there is a definite connection between these two books. Clancy's work provides several salient examples of principle alternate realities due to differences in communication that Watzlawick's book presents in academic theory.

Rather, Paul sees all human beings as one, part of his conception of the Christian world: "For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body -- whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free -- and we were all given the one Spirit to drink" (1 Corinthians 12:13). This new unity is radical and transforming: when an individual, regardless of who he or she was comes to accept

Together with the Roman Aqueduct, which resembles bridge, a triangular shape is forged. It leads the eye back to the mountain.
