The main problem in our unit is communication breakdown. The lack of a proper communication channel in the unit is the cause of crisis in the unit. ICU is a mission critical unit and the lack of proper communication can result in loss of life or serious health issues. The problem can be solved by proper training of all the staff as well as the use of technology to ease the communications problems. Team work must be advocated for in order to enhance workplace cohesion and co-operation.
