Education, I Have Focused so

¶ … education, I have focused so far on taking accounting, economics, and math classes, the subjects that most interest me, as well as receiving a well-rounded general education in liberal arts and other subjects. Based on my having taken courses in accounting, economics, and math in particular, I have decided, now, that a career as a Certified Public Accountant would suit me well, and would also enable me to make fruitful contributions to my community and to society.

Other personal and professional goals of mine, which are related to my overall current objective of becoming a CPA, include working in the future for a large accounting firm; earning a master's degree in accounting; and becoming more knowledgeable and experienced about various business environments and climates through securing internships with various firms and business organizations throughout the United States.

After earning my CPA and acquiring some professional experience in my field, I would also, in the future, like to continue my overall education and broaden my professional expertise, through obtaining another degree in criminology, in order to study criminal accounting. Above all, I seek, in choosing Certified Public accounting as a profession, and these additional goals, to become a well-rounded individual, and one who can contribute meaningfully.

My past student extracurricular activities have included working as a yearbook photographer; initiating a conflict management and peer mediation group; and doing community volunteer service. My work experience and responsibilities have included retail and sales, and working at the Blackwell Hotel. The hotel is affiliated with the Fisher College of Business. In this job, I have had opportunities to meet many professors and graduate students from the College while working as a server for the Grab 'n' Go sandwich shop. This work experience has helped to increase my knowledge of service-related business practices and of people in general, professionally and personally.
